Yea but like what else is there to talk about with them right now? Until the ep comes out or the tour starts, the thread would just be dead anyway.

I guess I don't get why it matters. I get hating it completely in a thread like this, but I don't see the harm if nothing else is going on and some people are having fun with it. Just don't follow the thread while the rankings are going on. What's the big deal?

 

Make new threads for ranking. "Brand New Ranking"

@Jason Tate needs to make a subforum in music for rankings, given how prevalent they are.

 

People seem to romanticize the type of discussions that go on in these threads.

I have no particular love for ranking or whatever, but the resentment towards it because it stifles some mythical amazing discussions is odd. Just about every thread I have ever seen in this place is people fucking around or rehashing the same silly argument. But whatever. You all do you.

 

Do a lot of people still feel they this is better than devil and god now that the magic has worn off? this album has a lot more variety genre wise and is probably produced better but devil and god fits my personal Music taste a little bit better. I can't really tell which one I rank higher yet but it's going to be close.

 

I absolutely do think it's the best thing they've done

 

It's still way too soon to judge if it's better than TDAG

 

But it's definitely up there with it! (Imo)

 

beacuse I check my followed threads multiple times daily, and opening a thread literally 100 times to see bullshit is annoying, especially when it's multiple threads I follow at a time

 

Yeah saying if it's better is so hard. I am enjoying it more right now than I am TDAG.

 

Yeah I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I don't think I'll be able to say for sure for a while.

 

I probably won't know for years if I like this better than Devil and God, but I can pretty comfortably say that at worst it will end up as my second favorite Brand New album.

 

My current thinking is that Science Fiction is the better record. But TDAG impacted my life more, for a variety of reasons. That's about as far as I'll let my critical analysis go at this point. haha.

 

I love seeing this. I still hope they are the openers even though there is no indication. I would love to finally see them live.

 

is an album that changed my life when i was 15 better than an album that came out less than two weeks ago? hard to say

 

ive seen obrother live about....6 or 7 times? like three of those times opening for thrice. i think only once was headlining. last time was last fall on the dep tour. they're so fucking amazing.

 

Fair enough. At least the Wonder Years one is almost done now haha

 

I'm still so mad at myself for missing them when I had the chance. They played here once in Ottawa and I didnt go

 

good news is they tour constantly both headlining and opening for great bands so youll catch em eventually. itll be worth the wait.

 

I think this album blows TDAG out of the water, but truly I think TDAG is only good not great.

 

i have literally never heard of obrother until people starting talking about them potentially opening this tour

 

I need to listen to O'brother more. I really enjoyed endless light.
