Don't lie.

 

It really is. Yet it's still easily my second to least favorite song. That's just how good the album is. Even the low tier songs are solid.

 

I'm not lying. I like you guys. The only really negative thing I have to say is that you guys don't really allow differing opinions. Other than that, you guys are all wonderful people and this has been a wonderful experience and I am happy to have joined you guys for this album drop.

So so so true! Brand New never ceases to amaze

 

It would be true if YFW wasn't part of their discography

 

See that's exactly what I meant when I commented earlier.

You guys don't let people have opinions here.

If someone likes YFW the most, they like YFW the most. There is no reason to act like it's wrong.

 

I feel like their first 3 albums are a trilogy.

 

I mean to each their own but if you can honestly think and album that has the song Magazines is their best then I don't know what to tell you

 

Preference is one thing... But the quality of song writing is massively different from YFW to all their albums. It's a solid pop punk album, but it's nowhere near their best work in any way.

 

In the end it's all opinions and here's a hint: Opinions can't be wrong.

 

You can enjoy and resonate with whatever album you do the most, no one can take that away. But, there can be general consensus that album X is more musically demanding, enlightened, or investing than your particular favorite one.

 

I learned pretty early on with this community that you're probably gonna like something that most people don't, and vice versa. It's not a big deal. Nobody ever told me I couldn't have a certain opinion, and I realized that it's more fun to talk about shit we all generally liked rather than constantly bring up something nobody's gonna agree with me on. Debates and disagreements are fine and usually we have fun with those on here, but at a certain point it gets tiring to beat a dead horse.

 

Magazines is such a fun song.

I remember when I realized what the lyrics were about. Ew.

I love the starts and stops of the guitars and I really enjoy all of the vocal harmonies.

 

The point is to not be condescending because someone thinks "x" album is the best.

Let people have opinions.

 

I'm sorry, but you're just wrong. Opinions can be wrong. Context is important of course, but for example, opinions based in ignorance or lack of insight can be and often are wrong.

Music is subjective and objective. The problem is most people lack the insight to properly voice those distinctions.
