No it seems like that just what bands do, but there isn't a garauntee or unwritten rule that a band has to do that. If you pay money to go see a band and they don't play the song that got them famous and you are pissed about it, that's on you not them

can you imagine being mad about not getting to see YFW when you could just go see TDAG and Daisy. granted id love to have gone to either show honestly. i may greatly dislike YFW but hell shows are usually fun either way. Plus getting to hear all of Deja live would be cool as fuck

 

that pissed me off so bad. I would have killed to be at one of those shows. And douchebags had the audacity to complain and walk out

Imagine dedicating a song to someone that you hate, hoping they drive drunk and wreck their car while sustaining injury.

Except, you don't hate them anymore, which is unfortunate, because now the entire constitution of the song falls apart. Frankly, you simply don't care about, or even think of that timeline in your life, due to shame or whatever reason. The person who wrote those lyrics is now gone, replaced by one who disdains those previous memories/feelings and the immature approach to life they were coming from.

Now, imagine standing on a stage over thousands of people who look up to you, put you on a pedestal...and they're upset enough that you didn't play the song to chant it's name, as if your decision not to play it hadn't said enough in the first place. They're not mad at the drummer, or bassist, or guitarist. At you, because you didn't sing it for them.

Give it few more years blake if you don't quite understand why chanters suck, you will. Everybody does eventually, I know there are at least a few people here who used to be you.

 

It allowed me to move a solid 50ft closer to the stage so winner winner chicken dinner in my book.

There is nothing more annoying than chanters at a show imo. Unrelated to BN, but especially when it's for a song that ofc the band is going to play and they start chanting way early in the set, or vice versa and it's a song there is no way they will play and I just want to tell them all to shut up. Sometimes I chant "play whatever you want" when people start doing it.

 

seriously though, can we just ban blakebeats?

I got Your Deja Devil Daisy Science, 10/10 would take quiz again.

 

They played IAAN in Philly when they were with Modest Mouse and the crowd enjoyed it a lot. We were seated in the balcony and the people up with us were jamming, and the pit down below was jumping around.

I enjoyed it live and I hope they keep playing it.
