Don't get me started on Modest Mouse. First off they were garbage live and then I said to myself, might as well finish out the show so I can at least hear Float On and they never played it. I was dead tired, you couldn't even understand the words Issac was singing, their encore was so long I almost missed the last bus to my car, and they didn't play Float On.

Honestly even though I got to see Brand New, that show is a bottom 2 show off all time for me.

I wish my crowd did that!

    forbidden chalice.

Sic Transit rules, but only after Tautou when listening to Deja Entendu on full. The way they play it now (like the live full sets they have on YouTube from last year) is too "carefree" and takes me out of the element of the band. I'd love to see it reworked live in a darker tone like Jude Law was.

Also, fuck playing the hits. If I was in a band, I'd pick a combo of songs each tour to create a unique experience for each tour. I hate when bands always play the same songs and sections in the same order. Give me a set where Tautou leads into At The Bottom as an opener and the next show does the intro to Vices and glitches into ominous dialogue of a couple arguing and the band bursts into Not The Sun. Surprise me. I live for the giddy feeling I get when I don't know what song is next.

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

While not entirely similar in melody, Lit Me Up and Slow Sin both do the same in setting a great ambience for the rest of the album to work off of.

Are we sure O'Bro is not the opener. Guess it's just wishful thinking on my part since I've never seen them live and would love to.

I'd enjoy almost all of their songs if they were to play them. The only songs I don't like are a few off YFW and a few off Daisy.

Honestly man, you need to stop posting for a bit because if you're trying to become someone in here that pisses everyone off you're doing a good job

I'm not trying to piss anyone off.

Would have been epic to hear 70x7 chants. That's a top 10 Brand New song right there!

Jesse has made it VERY clear playing that song is unpleasant for him now, why would you wish the crowd to force an uncomfortable setting for an artist to play in? How would that make the performance better?

Their tones are out of this world. Wasnt huge on their second album but Garden Window, Endless Light and even The Death Of Day are all spectacular

again idk if you know this but you can cuss on here your parents wont be mad at you neither will your highschool biology teacher but "i bet you dang well" did give me a good laugh so ty

cool those songs became popular like 10+ years ago. i mean obviously if the band wants to keep playing them thats on them and im cool with that but in an ideal world id drop those songs because theyre overplayed and frankly arent great. STG is kinda weird and hasnt aged well despite having a slick bassline, Quiet Things is a cool rock song but thats about it, Jesus is great ive just heard it so much im kinda sick of it, and dont even get me started on how awful the YFW tracks are that they play live and clearly dont want to play lol.

wait you mean to tell me......there are other people......besides this forum......holy shit youre just full of wisdom today.

like was said above, maybe take a step back for a bit instead of purposefully trying to rile people up and act condescending then saying we're being mean lol.

This entitlement of "popular songs that must be played each show" reminds me of when I saw Modest Mouse headline and they didn't play Float On. You should've heard the amount of people that were leaving the venue pissed off

Crowds chanting and yelling songs at an artist is some of the stupidest and most entitled shit in the world

    don't do that

In my experience, it's always like frat bros shouting for 70x7. I like the song, but wouldn't want to hear it live knowing that it would give those sniveling reprobates any satisfaction.

chanting a song name at a show is number 1 douche move.

Oh I was madly didsapointed. It's an unwritten rule of concerts to at least play your most popular song.

To this date I've only seen two artists not play their most popular song and both times left me in pure shock.

seeing them live was the first time i got to see a little bit of that BN mystique curtain being pulled back. Jesse talked a little and he even told one guy to shutup because he kept yelling "PLAY TRAILER TRASH". he mentioned not liking certain YFW songs but they felt like fans would be mad if they didnt play them, then he started playing "3 Little Birds" but forgot the words. Vinnie was like "bro what the fuck?" and Jesse said "its our show i can do whatever the FUCK i want" and then they both laughed. he then said he wish'd he could stay after the show to sign vinyls and shirts and stuff but he hates being crowded and wanted to go sleep.

id really really like to just peek in at them before a show just to see what they talk about lol

  22. Only thing that makes it worse is if it's "Freebird."

    A) I'm not trying to rile anyone up. Just stating my opinions. If my opinions rile you up, maybe you should take a step back as well

    B) I haven't called anyone mean or a douche since that very first incident
