    Thoughts on the finale:
    1. The little finger plotline was a mess and was solely there just to have someone expendable die in the finle. I felt like it was rushed and poorly explained and I don't like not knowing at what point Sansa and Arya were in on it together. Little finger was not listening when Arya confronted Sansa and her reaction/anger towards Sansa just seemed too genuine. Also to reduce all of Little Fingers meddling throughout the series to this was kind of anti-climatic. I'm sure in the books he has a bigger role to play and won't go out in such a weak way.

    2. The Theon fight was ridiculous and I'm beyond caring about his character and wanting any kind of redemption for him. Also the whole ball kicking thing was stupid. I don't have balls on my shin but it'd still hurt if someone kicked me there repeatedly. Can anyone who was castrated comment? Would you just not feel anything there and take kick after kick with no pain?

    3. The rest of the finale was excellent and I'm excited for next season. The odds are stacked and I really have absolutely no idea of how the night kings army can be defeated. However, minor qualm (possible plot hole) is that the zombie dragon is OP. Why doesn't the night king just fly the dragon ahead and ice-fire everything? You don't even need the army at this point. Just attack them when they're unawares with that beast.

No way Beric and Tormund are dead. I never trust and off-screen death. If they wanted to kill them off they would've given them at least a short last moment where it was clear they were done.

The scene in the dragonpit was so tense. I did not like having every major character together like that because I just kept expecting the worst to happen. I'm really happy they didn't go the route of having Cersei actually join up with them. It would've been absurdly out of character, but I believed it might happen anyway just because it was unexpected, so I didn't see it coming when she laid out her plan to Jaime. That was a great scene, and I really thought Jamie was dead.

The Littlefinger scene was the first time in this show where I could tell exactly what was happening, but it was still satisfying to see him meet his end. Honestly his story this season was my least favorite part. I never found his plotting believable - it seemed pretty lazy on his part that he thought he could so easily turn the sisters against each other, and for what end game? To get Sansa as Queen of the North? Glad it's resolved now though. Side note: they really don't know what to do with Bran now, do they? He just conveniently missed that one part where Rhaegar and Lyanna did actually get married even though he can see everything that ever happened?

Agreed, Beric and Tormund are still alive, they made it to the part of the wall that didn't get taken down. Looks like the damage was only done to a massive portion of the middle of it.

Does the fact that Dany (supposedly) can't have children affect the incest between her and Jon? Does incest really count if they can't produce children? I feel like I've heard of states where you're allowed to marry your first cousin as long as you don't produce offspring.

Completely unrelated: I'm dreading Theon's plot next season. I hope that gets wrapped up like episode #1 because we don't have enough time to waste it watching Theon try to redeem himself to save Yara, who is a character I'm not really that invested in to begin with.

I think there was some hinting with Jon asking Daeny "did you consider the crazy witch asshole wasn't a reliable source of information" that he'll be the exception, likely due to being a Targaryen.

I think the technical definition of incest is a relationship that includes siblings, parents, and grand parents, so I'm not sure those two getting together technically is incest

Season 8 starts with Tormund and Bearic booking ass along the wall to Castle Black?

Also where was Gendry this episode? Was he at Eastwatch too?

Fuck it, gonna reread the books. It's been years and the show's prominence in the fandom has wiped my memory of a lot of the book-sclusive differences.

Yeah I was kind of torn on the whole thing. It was pretty cool seeing the sisters get the better of him but it also seemed a little rushed.

I think it's supposed to be assumed that Arya was just testing Sansa (since she is trained on reading lies). She wanted to find out if her allegiance was really to Jon and their family. They kind of went at it in an odd way.

Yea I've been wondering about that too. Seems unlikely it was just a throwaway line, but who knows. I just can't imagine the end of the show being Jon Snow and his Aunt Dany getting married taking over the Iron Throne and having a child together.

It's interesting that 2/3 of the people likely to end up on the Iron Throne (Dany, Cersei, Jon) at the end of the show are unlikely to have heirs, if it's true that Dany can't have children.

I'm convinced that she will fall pregnant following this last episode and it fuels Jon even further, possibly sacrificing his own life, to ensure whatever happens that Dany and their unborn child are safe and on the Iron Throne.

That loneliness is not a function of solitude.

Not sure if anybody has mentioned this in regard to Dany being able to have a baby, but in the books I'm pretty sure there it's pretty clear that she probably can have a baby w/ a line about her "womb quickening."

I would imagine that Theon's primary purpose next season will be to go after Euron only to discover that he isn't at the Iron Islands. Then he can relay that information to Jon & Co. Although w/ Jaime heading north they'll probably get that info from him anyway.

I disagree that his death was handled poorly. I agree the buildup in prior episodes was reallly off. But the final scene in the hall at winterfell was excellent.

I have no problem with the scene, I thought it was great. But the build up in the previous episodes was horrendous and poorly executed.

I think it depends who you think is being played. I always assumed it was Sansa and Arya playing Littlefinger. If you assume that, I think it was very good. If you assume it was D&D playing the audience though I agree, very bad.
