She said that she and Varys are going to die in a specific city or something like that, as I recall. Maybe that's next season.

So if Daario realized that the Golden Company is all peacing out to Westeros I imagine he comes too with the Second Son's or something? Jorah and Daario can be bitter together.

I think they both die somewhere in Westeros? I think that's what she mentioned about why she had to come back once she went.

I think it's strange how a) there's been no reference to Jorah's feelings and b)how there's no reaction on his end to Dany's obvious feelings for Jon.

Yeah the whole show being a Bran vision or something of that nature wouldn't shock me.

Just give me more flashbacks of Jon's parents while you're at it.

I'm hoping them dragging this Euron plot into the final season has some sort of payoff that doesn't result in Theon finding himself after Yara's death.

Thought this episode was pretty good. The dragonpit scenes were well done. Cersei was the real MVP of this episode. Her scenes with Tyrion and Jaime were the definite highlights for me. The Lannisters are always capable pf bringing scenes to life. I was glad to see Jaime finally abandon Cersei as well. Long time coming. Too long, but glad it's finally come.

Only things that didn't really hit it off for me were the Theon bit and the parentage reveal. Those scenes were just so corny and laughable. The sex scene was weird to see portrayed during the parentage reveal. I get that they don't know about their relation in the show yet so that'll be a scene to reeavluate in the future when they do finally know depending on what they do.

The Littlefinger death wasn't that great to me. I'm glad he's dead, but I felt loke that entire plotline was handled poorly this season and the payoff wasn't great for me. It felt like a seven that just exists to me. Didn't hold a lot of weight.

But the wall coming down was awesome. Hope Tormund is okay.

The Littlefinger thing was great for me but I was always under the impression they were playing him.

Why was Bran present for Littlefinger's judgement? I felt like that betrayed his previous statement about how he was no longer Bran and is now past those lordly duties.

I feel like they did a poor job building up to jon and dany's relationship, incest aside

Episode was far better than the last 2 episodes. Better pacing. I wish they would have handled Arya better this season. They sacrificed her character all season for this one scene in which they out Littlefinger (which was a good scene!). Glad to see Jon and Dany get it done. Bound to happen and I'm all in on that. It was a complex scene. I think people missed the intent, maybe on the writers but maybe because people can be daft? As the writers said it's probably more a foreshadow to a possible rift between Dany and Jon now that he is actually the true heir to the iron throne.

Of note: As someone that was not a fan of the last 2 episodes I find it funny that the narravtive in here has shifted in unison with what critics are saying. It's almost reactive/sheep like response. This was a very good episode regardless of the last two.

The Jon Dany relationship writing felt conflicting, until the past two episodes, when Tyrion just dropped that they've been googling each other.

I am definitely glad they wrote Sansa overcoming Littlefinger's manipulation by her figuring it out and not having Arya provide the solution. However, leaving the story at Arya being upset with Sansa, and that whole dynamic before this, is awful. It didn't really make sense that she would be manipulated the way she was. If she was acting and playing Littlefinger, they didn't address it.

I've seen a million period dramas where cousins get married and no one bats an eye. We're making too much of the aunt/nephew thing.

I thought the first 40 or so minutes of this ep were fairly fantastic with the Cersei and Tyrion scene being an absolute gem with the kind of stellar writing and acting that this season has lacked. Unfortunately the rest of it was uneven with the highs being the sansa and arya bits and the low being the jon/dany/bran side by side bit. A clumsy conclusion to a clumsy relationship/plot.

The Brienne/Hound conversation about Arya was a great, small moment.

Incest is a significant part of the show. The show has never set up any form of incest to be neutral or positive. This is a show that largely contextualizes behaviors of a medieval/fantasy society through the lens of the audience watching it. Slavery, rape, poverty, sexism, and incest exist and are part of the world, but the show presents them as bad things that are a part of a system that characters are fighting to change. The books are a different story, but given the way incest and character reactions to incest have been presented in the text of the show, there's no real precedent for the moral characters on the show/the audience going "oh that's acceptable incest then". Then again there's plenty of time for the fallout to contextualize what happened with Jon and Dany and it might do so adequately, though they definitely didn't need to hammer on the exclamation point with the simultaneous sex scene/Jon's parentage reveal.

I hope there is fallout between Jon and Dany after learning his parentage, but yikes. If that scene happens in GRRM's notes as a challenging tragic/comedic moment for the characters and audience to contend with I guess the showrunners want to be faithful to his story, but IMHO, where I come from a simple kissing scene like in Star Wars would have been more than sufficient!

The Littlefinger death was one of the most satisfying deaths in the entire show. The face off between Hound and Mountain all but confirms Cleganebowl will go down. The visuals in the final scene with the ice dragon laying waste to the wall were glorious. I'm interested in knowing more about the Night King and watching the final battle take place. Is it true that he hasn't even been revealed in the books (if he exists in them at all?)?

I feel like this show kinda jumped the shark compared to what I thought it was going to be and it's getting kind of predictable now, but at least it's still entertaining/interesting and has more substance than most of what's on TV. No matter what happens in the final six episodes, it has had a major effect on me and changed the way I see storytelling, plot structure, characterization, etc.

One thing the shorter season robbed us off was seeing Bran reveal LF's double crossing of Ned to Sansa and Arya and their reactions. I wanted to see that.

Also I don't understand why everyone is talking about the Jon/Dany reveal when clearly the most important revelation is that we find out that Ramsay took both the pillar AND stones from Theon

Forgot that the last Aegon (Mad King's granddaddy) was known as Aegon The Unlikely.

That would make Jon Aegon The Really Unlikely
