This is a really great read about The Lost Legacy, and puts into words a lot of things I've been thinking about it. Warning, it does contain quite a big spoiler, and the article is written about that spoiler, so maybe stay away if you haven't played the game.

I just think Sam Drake turning up halfway through was a bit unnecessary. As the article says, I was sold on it being a standalone adventure, a Drake-free adventure. I get they needed a way to introduce tension for it to later be resolved, but its changed how I'm enjoying the game. I was absolutely loving Chloe and Nadine and the relationship that is forming between them. I honestly believe that Chloe could lead the series on her own from now on. So why have Sam? As a call back, a way of saying "hey, remember those other two?"? It felt like a cheap way of introducing tension between the two, two strong female characters end up resorting to fighting over a male.

Once I've complete the game, I might end up writing more about this, cause it's really got me thinking.

 

Yakuza series news!

The Yakuza 2 remake was officially announced for PS, as was Yakuza Online for PC and mobile. Yakuza Online will feature the first appearance of the new series protagonist (where he will star in a future Yakuza 7/the next new mainline game), this guy:

(IMO they didn't need to introduce a new character as a protagonist when I would have loved Saejima or Akiyama from 4/5 to get a chance at a solo starring role but whatever)

Holy shit. No spoilers, but I am getting some horrific frame rate drops at the end of Uncharted. Original PS4, so not Pro, but fuck me. Must be in single digits, almost unplayable.

 

Lost Legacy? That sucks, I'm also on an original PS4 and there were a few relatively minor dips when things got super hectic in that sequence but nothing even close to that.

 

The middle section of that sequence, it was like stop motion animation haha. First performance issues I've ever had with an Uncharted game.

 

I'm getting good internet so I can get Overwatch back! So hyped!!!

Lol, this is the best PUBG thing I've ever seen

 

Finally played Superhot and holy moly that game is good.

It's probably coming to PS4 at some point, but given that Microsoft is publishing it on Xbox (and supporting the porting with money and manpower), I'd say it'll be an exclusive for at least a year or so.

 

do people still play DayZ? remember when that was supposed to come out on PS4

 

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 will be the most underrated game of the year. Game is super fun.

 

I tried to give Mafia 3 another chance today but it's just not good. The gameplay is so painfully average. Also, this game looks like crap when driving around the city during the day. Such a disappointment.

 

Wow it was like my favorite games last year, haha. I think the shooting feels good for a GTA-like, the gameplay loop is great and the city is very atmospheric, although not too graphicallypretty in the open world. I do remember it being a game that some people really don't like and some other people love a lot so this makes sense, haha.

 

Maybe I'm just bored of GTA-like games, I mean Watch Dogs 2 didn't really do much for me either. Although to be fair I would take WD 2 over Mafia 3, haha. Mafia 3 just feels unfinished, it's almost like it needed another year or so in development.

really? mine worked perfectly the whole game. had it in HDR, not a pro system.

 

Oh yeah, no idea what was up with it. I guess with the nature of the scene, a lot of things were being rendered and there were a lot of explosions and things happening simultaneously, but yeah. PS4 sounded like it was going to take off too, fan was going crazy. Rest of the game was perfect mind, so doesn't affect my judgement of it at all.

 

oh yeah my fan was going nuts hahah. Horizon did that to my PS4 as well as Last of Us which I finally restarted and am now further than I've ever been in the game.
