Idk. I have the problem too. I think Apple assumes everyone is doing wifi transfers but mine is so slow I need to plug it in. I have this problem occasionally when putting new music on. Sometimes I have to remove any of the USB cords also plugged in. There is a little bit of inexact science that goes towards figuring it out but I usually can get it to work eventually.

Also with the cord I did have it work intermittently but it would also do this thing where it would constantly connect and disconnect. Tried multiple cords both that came with Apple products and third party that I've bought. I was close to bringing my iMac in but decided to see if I bought a new lighting cable from Apple what would happen. Haven't had the issue since.

 

Just downloaded the Magnet window manager app for my Mac - best $0.99 I've spent so far in the App Store. If you are coming over to Mac from Windows - it basically replicates the easy snap functionality of Windows, and then some. The keyboard shortcuts are amazing - Cntrl+Option+ Arrow left or right to snap accordingly and then U, I, J, K to snap to the corners.

 

The best app. Use it every time I have a window open on my Mac.

 

Help! I opened iTunes, bought an album in the store, created a playlist to burn it on to a CD (as I always do) and then the thing in the attachment happened. Now all my playlists with music I bought via iTunes are greyed out like that. I can listen to them in iTunes, but I can't burn them on CD.

I deleted and downloaded them again, I deauthorized and reauthorized my Mac - nothing changed.

What's going on?

EDIT: I fixed it, I think? Somehow they all got unmarked. What the fuck.

I love my 6S. Getting the 7 didn't really appeal to me unless I was interested in the 7+, which I wasn't. Depending on how substantial these new phones are....I see myself keeping my 6S as long as possible and upgrading my apple watch if/when the time comes. I use that more than my phone anyways. Plus, I really don't feel like paying more a for a phone.

Hell, my work phone is a sweet ass flip phone with fish swimming in the ocean on home screen. Makes me miss my razor phone haha.

 

Damn! I was hoping it was next week. lol.

 

I spend too much money on devices already, what’s another $1k next month?

Picked up a Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad Pro today. Gonna take a bit to get used to (going from tapping around on my screen and bringing my hands back down to my keys) but it’s pretty neat!

 

Apple fights Hollywood to price 4K movies on iTunes at $20

I'm far away from getting a 4K TV but in terms of making things affordable I hope Apple wins this.

 

I picked a 43" up around a year or two ago for under $500. It's the ones with HDR that are incredibly pricey still.

 

I'm just not in the market for a new TV right now. I am getting annoyed with mine though because I realize LED TVs are garbage.

What are the best Apple Watch straps out there?

 

fortunately it's picking up. the new tcl 607 has hdr and local dimming, and is only $600 for the 55 inch model, and is being praised as an incredibly good tv for the price. there are hdr models for even cheaper as well. rtings.com has a growing list of decent to very good budget 4k/hdr sets.

personally, I'm not planning on getting a TV anytime soon since mine is only 3 years old, but I def think this is the right year for Apple to jump into the 4k field, since 4k/hdr is now affordable. I hope they can secure that $20 price point, that'd be a great win.

 

I don't know anything about TV's but that seems like a good deal.

Big fan of the official nylon bands. Have a blue one and the pride one. Very comfortable.

I'd steer clear of anything cheap off eBay or Amazon - they just never feel or look right.

You can find some pretty good affordable ones at Target and Walmart as well. I found a nice turquoise sport-like band for $5 in the Walmart clearance section and it actually doesn't suck.

Is there a good, trustworthy app to turn an iphone into a mouse/keboard for a mac?

 

Tempted to go with the nylon ones tbh, the leather ones just seem a bit too much.

If shipping to the UK was cheaper I'd consider their leather ones. The prices are decent.

Much difference to the stock sport band?

 

They feel the exact same to me, just more breathable and less sweaty haha. I also like the way they look.

 

I bought a new MacBook. Do Mac's need anti virus software these days? If so, is Bitdefender a good choice?
