YUP. I was visiting this friend and her husband, we woke up and watched Aladdin and Harry Potter weekend nursing our hangovers. It's crazy how that works it's way into conversations now. "I'm looking at a few options here, but I was also reading online about x, y, and z." Whether that's retirement, insurance, mortgages...

 

I started writing using the name in '96, I bought the domain name in '98. It became kinda more what it is today (with all the bands versus just one or two) around 2000-2002.

 

I was wondering if you were gonna do this. I'm happy about it haha

yeah i made an account in like... 09 i wanna say? after lurking for two or three years. it's so funny to think about how i was interacting with websites and technology around then, 2007 or so. i only listened to music on Imeem and Purevolume and played flash games and shit

tumblr is the site i've used for the longest i think. when i first started using the internet it was all youtube and yahoo answers

 

i will say i'm much more engaged because of functionality and because i'm getting in at the ground floor. in AP i sometimes had a hard time breaking into threads and staying committed because i felt like i was intruding on a group of friends whereas here since we're all pretty new it's a little more natural for someone overly anxious like me to be able to get into the flow haha

 

My core group of friends have added the other one into the conversation as well ... babies.

And I just sit there having no idea what to say. No just .

My first main usage of the Internet was when I saw commercials for Disney Channel games on disneychannel.com and the same for Cartoon Network

 

Yeah, thankfully mine are all still not quite at that stage just yet. But I think I'm 5 or 6 years younger than you so that'd be about the right timeline. I'm one of two people in my core group who aren't married/in a long term relationship. I've become a minor project for them in that regard.

 

I agree. And think that's a really good point. I hope that as it grows we can maintain both. I think the functionality, private forums, much improved private messaging, and ability to find things and talk about them more will definitely aid in that, but I really, really hope we can keep the positive culture I think we're currently carrying and trying to build as well. That's important to me this time as much as ever — the culture and community we create.
