This is SO tedious and idek if I'm measuring everything right and grr whiny whiny grumble because I already have my degree and school never really ends, does it

I'm guessing you meant 6 inches across, not square inches (otherwise you'd need a huge grid). Better to convert to feet first. If it's just 6 inches across that's 0.5ft, or 0.25 ft^2/square, which means you'd need 800/0.25 = 3200 squares, or ~ a 57X57 grid of squares.

omg my brain just melted. She did give us a long piece of graph paper so I decided to uncomplicate things and just say she intended that to be 800 square feet. But then I need to design an outdoor playground too so I'm like... is that part of the graph paper too?!! I guess probably. so I kinda just drew an arbitrary outline for my classroom and left some room for a playground? (playground doesn't need to be to scale). I think I'm doing this all wrong but I just keep going cause like... it's due so what can I do lol

as long as your classroom size makes sense I think you're good then. 800 square feet is a very reasonable size for a classroom (40x20 foot room for example). So if you convert that to "square units" you'll want an outlined rectangle around the size of 50x64 squares or 80x40 squares or something like that.

I'm hoping she gave graph paper with really tiny squares haha.

Oh the worst part is that it is a reasonable size. Its about the size of my classroom that I have and rearrange and do this irl all the time!! But translating it to graph paper is not working for me. I asked her if I could just rearrange my existing classroom based on what I learned and she could come look at it cause it's the same thing as the graph paper but ACTUALLY REAL WHICH SEEMS BETTER LOL and she said no haha.

Feel like anyone who's ever called a forum an echo chamber has forgotten the special hell of people who fancy themselves intellectuals all agreeing with each other christ. Anyway I wrote a short story that I had to turn in where I just roasted the class bc fuck it why not

You'll learn real quick when you wanna see if you can not show up to class without penalty on the syllabus. Repeat for every class. Good luck!

How often are you working? I'm only doing two days a week for work but it seems like anytime I've picked up an extra shift, I've fallen behind. Not missing-assignments-behind but only -having- extra -time -for -assignments -behind.

I'm working 3 days a week from 9-3. I wasn't planning on working during the semester that much but I got a job in an office setting that isn't always busy so thankfully I will get some down time to do school work (my boss is awesome). Pay is real good too for being 19. I'm taking evening/night classes. I'm in my second year of doing community college and I'll be transferring next year to Rowan University.

If it ends up becoming too much I'm gonna cut down on the amount of hours/days I work.

working 3 days a week with 12 credit hours was too much for me at times. i was pushing it and ended up cutting down to 2 days. it really depends on the type of work. reading/writing takes longer for me than practicing math/programming, and i chose to go with a reading/writing intensive major cuz i hate myself

sounds like you've got it figured out man! I'm a server so if I worked during the week I tend to just k.o. did you keep your weekends free? Your boss sounds sorry accommodation in the best way

are you a fellow English major?

My weekends and Fridays are completely open which is great. Classes are Monday-Thursday and I'm work 9-3 Tuesday-Thursday. I really like my schedule for this semester. Gives me plenty on time to get homework done on Friday and still go out and enjoy my weekends. Or at least I hope that's how it goes haha.

you'll be good if you're not a huge procrastinator like me haha. That set up is truly the goat, had one similar and kept fucking up by not being timely ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

oh damn, sick. What brought you to philosophy specifically? Don't meet too many philosophy majors around where I live so not a question I've gotten to ask before.

A good friend of mine introduced philosophy to me when I was younger, and after taking my first college Phil course, it just felt like a good fit. Its challenging and rewarding, but I'm so close to graduating and I'm getting burned out.
