    Yes.

Watchmen is pretty much literal garbage. I would support banning Snyder from ever making comic book movies again based on that film alone.

But then he went and made Man of Steel.

  2. Reading this thread as someone who really likes BvS and the DCEU's Superman character.

Dunno, depends on if you said it in ridiculous ways with bad reasoning like you do now.

lol BvS had a ton of good moments though! Literally the best Batman scenes we have ever gotten (until JL comes out probably)

I can't see what you posted within the thread. But I can see it in my reply box as I type this haha but sorry, I despise the Superman they have given us. An awful selfish hero who I couldn't care less "died". I wish he would have stayed dead.

  8. Not how I view the character, but I understand where most of you are coming from. Was never into Superman really, but Henry Cavill's just does it for me.

Lol Man of Steel is a fantastic movie, I have still yet to hear a really good complaint against it other than it didn't fit their version of Superman. As a movie it works super well as a story of the struggle of an outsider on earth with two fathers.

I can get the watchmen complaints, but garbage? Yikes. Isn't it a fact that Snyder took the job after turning it down because he heard it was going to someone who was going with the giant alien squid ending? Snyder made the ending really work and the rest was straight off the comic page. I dunno if garbage is a good word for it.

  11. Just not true.

There's an awesome 3 minute scene in that movie but there's a boat load of movies that have great, great iconic and memorable Batman scenes in them. A well filmed action scene doesn't change the great stuff before it.

What scenes are better? Just because it's action doesn't discredit it from being a great scene. We finally got to see Batman move and fight like Batman. No shakey cam or extras falling down before they are hit like the Nolan films.

I think the warehouse scene in BvS is probably the best live action Batman fight scene we've gotten.

  14. Batman grabbing people at the docks in BB.

The opening scene of TB's Batman.

Bruce and Joker in the apartment in TB's Batman.

Batman's detective work with the bullet in TDK.

    "Swear to me."

    The Batpod scene in TDK.

    The Chinese extraction in TDK.

The interrogation of the Joker in TDK.

    I can keep going.

I didn't say that at all. You have to read people's posts before responding.

I like Cavil. I think he could be an amazing superman. He is just written/directed so poorly.

I have zero interest in a superman who only cares about Lois and his mom.

Look, we have done this before. There are several examples of me explaining to you why Man of Steel is a horrible Superman movie. You want to ignore those, that's fine. But I'm pretty damn comfortable that mine is the prevailing opinion because WB literally made their next movie a horrible attempt rectify some of what they got horribly wrong the first time.

As for Watchmen, Snyder is an idiot. His ending is nonsensical and totally distorts the entire purpose of the book. The reason Ozy's plan involves an alien (an outside threat) is that this is the only way to unite the entire planet. Removing all artificial barriers, like borders. To show us as a global species, battling an external threat.

Swapping that out with Doc, after the whole story shows Doc working as a military tool for the US, becoming a literal giant and killing people in Vietnam, completely alters that. Now, most countries have their lines drawn by their relationship to the US. Because the US's weapon caused this huge disaster. Ozy's plan is stupid in this version. It unites some countries against others.

Snyder changed that beautiful endind, and did so in a way that completely altering the meaning, because he thought a squid was stupid. That's Snyder in a nutshell. A little style, no substance

I would say those three do come close for sure, great moments. I guess it's just personal taste to see Batman move and fight like Batman. Also its a pretty long scene so we get a ton of it.

And I'm going to have to nit pick like you for this one:
That sounds like you bright up that it was an action scene to discredit the argument, or else why was it even said?

Yeah, I know I went back and forth with Tim a bunch and you chimed in, but it ended on just points about why this superman isn't my superman. Nothing about the actual movie. Its ok, I think I started I this tread with I know I'm alone in loving MOS.

That's some pretty harsh words towards Snyder. The giant alien squad would have been so dumb in the form of live action movie, I'm sorry. I loved the twist he threw in. It worked for me and a ton of other people though.

  19. I wouldn't go that far, but ya he does feel disconnected from humanity up until the end of BvS. I've enjoyed his arc of doubting himself, questioning his purpose, and eventually realizing his love of this world. Judging by the character's trajectory, the Superman in JL should be more in line with the character most fans love. I may be giving Snyder/WB too much credit, but that's what I'm assuming we'll get.

Speaking of Lois, I do take issue with her character. Amy Adams is a great actress, but her character in these movies is so dull, which makes it hard to be invested in her and Clark's devotion to her.

  20. It's like around 3-4 minutes. And it's a good version of a Batman fight like you'd seen in a video game and some of the comics. It's a good scene, I didn't say differently. I said there are other great scenes too and making it seem like the best we've seen of Batman came from BvS is just wrong.

Because, I'll just say it again: a great action scene of Batman in BVS doesn't discredit or remove the great Batman scenes that we've had on film before it.

Yeah it reminded me of Arkham for sure, and I'm sure its what they were going for.

I didn't say it discredited anything that came before, I love what cam before (minus TDKR and B&R). Saying it's not the best just because BvS is the same as saying the makeup and costumes in SS weren't good just because its not a good movie. That is super short sighted.

Ok so you literally aren't going to acknowledge that it makes Ozy's plan utterly meaningless and makes the literal smartest man on the planet look like an idiot for having such a stupid plan?

It didn't need to be a giant squid alien. It could have been any external threat that wasn't previously shown in the story to have been a tool of the American military machine. I can only conclude that, for someone who says he loved Watchmen, Snyder wasn't intelligent enough to grasp its finer points. Which is why he made such a piss poor adaptation

Oh sorry, didn't mean to not respond to that point. His plan made world peace in the end, so isn't that actually a good plan from his POV. And outsmarting and hiding his plan from the DR who can see all of time and space give weight to how smart Ozy is?

I just don't know put in Snyder's place what I would have done. I def wouldn't have gone with the Squid lol and Ozy seemed like a good replacement. But who knows, I dunno what the other options were in the writers room.
