I kinda went rogue and did my own thing. I wanted to concentrate more about awareness of the social issue of suicide and added some other stuff to work in context.

Great comp, guys! As always, I'm so glad I could take part in it. Some observations: six out of nine are from Hybrid Theory, which is understandable since most people consider it their best, but I was expecting a bit more from Meteora. (also @JakeRabin did a third of these, haha) Not as much rapping as I'd expected, either (again, also understandable, I guess, considering recent events), but there's a pretty good mix of full-band and single-instrumental, so that's cool and keeps it fresh. Vocals on Breaking the Habit and A Place for My Head (@elemenohpe ) are lit fam.

Haha the rapping was almost a dealbreaker, but then I just said fuck it and threw back a few Anti-Hero's and approached it with liquid courage. I mean I was borderline scream-rapping but I did most of the vocals before laying down any other tracks.

Oh well, this is prolly the most fun I've had doing this; which sounds fucked up considering recent events. But I'm bi-polar and I've been in this conflicting Manic state AS I was hella depressed. It's the weirdest episode I've ever had. I wasn't swinging between the highs and lows, they were both happening at once. It felt good to pay homage and I'm starting to realize that expressing myself in music is prolly the best thing I've done for my mental health.

 

Hell yes.
I'm going through things and something about recognizing how music helps me, reconnecting, is always good.

 

So are we doing originals next one then?

Should we have a theme?

 

If we do originals I think just a general originals might be cool as we haven't heard what everyone has been up to in that realm lately, but that's just my thinking.

 

I think next is another tribute then a comp. Brad said originals would be on the poll for that one.

Personally, I'm not real keen on the theme idea. Let's just keep it open.

I'm usually reminded of the time I had to wait at an intersection next to a girl in a Dodge Neon with neon green underskirt lights, a plate that read "NEON" and a bumping system that was playing John Mayer's 'Neon'.

It was just too surreal.
