for some reason people born in 96 feel worlds younger than people born in 94, who seem ancient. presumably because i, born in 95, feel like i don't fit in either category as i don't feel young or old, i just am

I saw that people born in 94 can drink now and that was weird.

yeah the idea is it's the skinny, hairy middle ground between bears (bulky, hairy dudes) and twinks (skinny, hairless dudes) but afaik there does not exist a label for bulky, hairless dudes, and obvs labels in generally are not the be-all-end-all and it's not a successfully inclusive system anyway so it's definitely pretty niche haha. just wanted to make sure you didn't give anyone an impression you didn't want to give, obvs makes no difference to me if you think of yourself as an otter in the sense of being a half human otter because otters are wonderful creatures anyway

Yeah, @Jason Tate, my friend and I drank a pitcher of margaritas each after seeing that. While discussing retirement plans. God, being an adult sucks.

am i understand you correctly if i say that indicates that AP's bulk ppd comes from a "core" group of users who post a ton in the forums, but also features a collection of surface-level users who browse the newsfeed and comment once or twice a day there, while chorus' traffic comes solely from that same core group now directing traffic here? makes sense if so. interesting

  18. I started looking at AP in 2008 when I was 14

  19. Hahahaah.

I laugh because I know this feeling so well. My sister came over for dinner last week and midway through she said something like "I'm really excited about my new raise, because I got to immediately up the amount I'm putting into retirement each month," and we both looked at each other and started laughing. That feeling of "oh, this is what we talk about as siblings now?" we went from running around the yard pretending to be super-heroes to discussing how much money to put into retirement? We then decided we had to watch some cartoons and Always Sunny and eat too much pizza and candy to make up for our extreme being old adults conversation.

I think I found AP when I was in like 8th or 9th grade, so probably in the area of 2009ish.

Never made an account until like 2014.

And now your teenage years are almost gone. AP literally ate your teenage years.

  24. I would say by and large that's true. But if I go back a week and look AP.net was doing the same amount of posts roughly per day, but no one over there knew about this site. So it's still chugging along at the moment, but the engagement here has been off the charts so far. It's been very interesting, and will be even more interesting to run some other numbers in a week or so.

Also makes me way less worried about killing news comments and being worried people wouldn't know what to talk about. Haha.
