nostalgia glasses when it comes to the time in your life, that is. people develop emotional reactions to things from their childhood because they help guide the experiences of later on.

hence why i went to see we the kings this year lol

I am not entirely sure abotu this, but I think it's possible that the first CD I bought was Weird Al's Bad Hair Day.

But I also think I may have owned it on cassette instead.

He was awful during the election in 2008. I remember us all talking about him in the politics thread on absolutepunk.

oh okay, i know nothing of them personally or even what happened after that album. i figured there was more to it other than being a generic neon pop rock band.

    origin story

my brother had gotten home from sam goodie, ran downstairs to the basement, and grabbed the boombox. i didn't think anything of it. i eventually went outside where he was listening to deja for the first time. i asked him if he liked it and he and his friend were in awe. he was playing that album literally every day for months and the songs just became ingrained in my brain. i was 10. this has happened with basically every band i listened to growing up, but this story sticks out pretty clearly for whatever reason

This is how you'll feel about YFW when you're 30.

But if I didn't listen to YFW when I was a child or Pop Punk in general, how would I have nostalgia?

When I was a child I was listening to Christian Rock, N Sync, and Weird Al.

  10. Ummm....

I can probably off the top of my head give you 20 to 30 artists with four releases that are historically "the best of all time" or at least in the conversation / phenomenal runs. And let's not get carried away here. One of the best bands of this generation? Absolutely. 4 of the best albums of all time? Get out of here.

Nah, I'll always love that record.

I grew out of some artists from Jr. High but I don't really grow out of music anymore.

  14. In the future parents will play Brand New around the fire over the holidays with their kids.

And freak/depress their kids right the fuck out of their stockings. Haha.

My sister got NOW 4 for Christmas while I got an N64. The N64 had a busted power cable and didn't work which made me burst into tears. My sister and I had to share her gift.

    It's called an OPINION.

Two Brand New albums are in my top 15 albums of all time and Science Fiction is no doubt going to make it their.

I'm talking like top 50 best. Like literally the BEST albums of all time. Not some list of like 1000 records

But Like I said, it's my opinion.
