Funny story, I had Sagarmatha playing in my store when the lead singer and his wife walked in. I had no idea what he looked like and his wife said something “hunny, it’s your band” I thought she was joking....she wasn’t

Thank you. I haven’t checked the site in a bit so I wasn’t sure if it had been answered.

It's wild how this album has rekindled my appreciation for this band. I had moved on from this band over the last three or so years of my life as my tastes began changing and I was keeping up with more and more music. This band kinda became an afterthought. I never bothered trying to see them live because it would be so difficult to get tickets (yet I saw them in 2013 and 2014 somehow some way haha). TDAG was really the only album I loved from them anymore, maybe Daisy. I distanced myself from the fanbase because threads would move way too quickly and so I wouldn't really discuss them with many people. I honestly kinda found this band overrated.

But now, with Science Fiction, I'm simply floored. I believe this album could be as strong as TDAG for me over time. For an album I went into with zero expectation and zero care if it ever even came or not, I'm so happy we have this album in the world because it is incredible and it is truly on hell of an album to go out on should it be their final release.

That's amazing! You talk to him a bit? I saw them when they were touring that album and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen I think.

Yeah! I sure did. One of my buddies either did drums on that album or toured playing drums for it and he told me to check it out. I still listen to it a lot.

Is there an "accessible" (for lack of a better word) death grips album? I tried them once and wasn't into it but it was a long time ago and tbh I don't think I came in with a very open mind at all

Btw, anyone have any trouble with playback of this album on an iPod? It seems it's just this one but whenever I play it, my iPod restarts after every song, which is why I've mostly been listening on a CD I burned in my car. Might just delete the files and use the one I got on Bandcamp

The Money Store has some huge hooks on it. the bands really aggressive and abrasive, almost punk rock hip hop. MC Ride yells and screams a lot and the instrumentals are usually very chaotic and loud so theres no escaping that. but i think MC Ride is a fantastic lyricist and vocalist plus like i said earlier the band can make a KILLER hook.

wait whaaaaaat this is like the weirdest least accessible DG album. Rides hardly on it, its mostly instrumentals and looped vocals plus its got some odd bits of experimentation. its a real good album but i wouldnt recommend it as an introduction

This Brand New album is making me go through and re-evaluate my feelings on the band. I had a kind of bias reserve towards them for years because some friends kind of ruined my chance to see them live. After that incident, I stopped really returning to them. But goddamn this might be a favorite band now.

  25. honestly sometimes it feels like BN threads are so insular, I don't have a problem with people talking about other stuff they like !!! sometimes it's good to discover new stuff based on a band you like. it's fun and it's what makes this forum fun. there's plenty of talk about this album too.
