i highly doubt that. It's already been out almost a week, people have already formed their opinions for the most part. That's the advantage to hearing an album at the same time as the "critics" everyone's listening without any preconceived notions.

 

If he had given it an 8 or a 9, this album would be everywhere. It would be huge and celebrated as an Album of the Year candidate not just by this site, or by Brand New fans, or the "scene", but by the music world at whole.

If Pitchfork pulls through though, that could still happen

 

Heavily acclaimed and possible #1 is now worthless because some piece of shit did something. Wow

 

The entire song is. Crazy that I was underwhelmed by it at the beginning. This is TDAG all over again for me.

 

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but just confirmed with a local record store that the indie exclusive is out of 5000 (which sounds about right) there's a strong possibility that the red/blue was the "limited"/5000 that we saw briefly on the PMT site tuesday. Still leaves questions about pressing qty for the "very limited" but definitely a piece to the puzzle.

 

Then again, he gave MBDTF a 7 and that didn't seem to hinder its legacy (although he wasn't as huge back then). Hopefully things work out. I'm scared but things can still be alright.

Also I'm almost positive there will be only one limited version (from PMT) and that's what was available for preorder on Tuesday. Don't think there was two separate versions.

There was a massive thunderstorm the other night in Jersey as I was driving home from work. The sun was still kinda out while this was happening and the sky was so ominous yet bright while this came on and I was floored. SO good.

thanks for saving me the trouble I wont bother with it. The one I shared from ARTV tho was def pretty good. I mean all video reviews are kind of annoying but for some reason I don't mind him as much.

 

Music reviews are an irrelevance in the modern age.

 

For the first half of the review, I was so happy. It seemed like he was on pace for an 8-9 level score. Then he started pointing out flaws and my stomach sank and I wanted to cry. The #1 on Billboard though is still in play, which would greatly help its acclaim though, so I'll pray that goes through officially. Metacritic score hasn't been posted yet, but early reviews have been possible, and Ronald McDonald doesn't play into Metacritic. So I'll be optimistic.

 

I hate video reviews cause the thumnails are all freaking annoying. Stuckmann, that Jahns guy, the dudes posted in here. They all have obnoxious thumbnails, and they all sound super annoying.

You are vastly overrating what one online reviewer means for the music community. if anything BN is going to get more exposure since they are about to have their first number 1 album, that is also universally acclaimed from new and old fans.

 

Imagine actually caring about metacritic for albums in the year 2017 lmao

Why do you care what a reviewer says about it? Do you like the album? Then cool! It already is going to have an incredibl legacy with pretty incredible acclaim. But all of that is irrelevant if you like it.

 

I've had that problem at getting super frustrated with film and music reviews. Sometimes they just don't see or hear what you do. And that's okay.

 

To the casual music listener, Metacritic matters. before I discovered better rating sites like Sputnikmusic, Metacritic was biblical. In order for this album to get that widespread acclaim I have been dreaming about for days, it needs to happen
