Wouldn't supreme me if No Control is from those sessions. It fits

Makes me proud to be a Brand New fan! 8 year gap between albums, a suprise drop and still going to go #1? So crazy!

 

Mene is from the Devil and God sessions though, or one of them anyway

 

I bought the vinyl and album but they don't ship until October so do they even count towards these numbers?

It's weird because normally Pre-orders released the week an album comes out so I'm not really sure how it works here

 

im not anywhere near an expert but since the album is officially out and also out on streaming services, i'd think that preorders count. but i think they'd also have to be reported which i suppose they mustve done. i preordered it and also bought it on bandcamp

 

I'm kind of trolling but is straightforward pop music laudable until a ~thought provoking~ artist makes it, and then it's just mediocre?

 

Alright, that makes a lot of sense. I guess I'd never thought of something like this because I don't think I've ever seen it happen before that I remember anyway.

I've purchased three different variants/editions of the vinyl.

It seems people think that brand New took 8 years to work on SF. But remember how they were gonna release an album last year with IAAN on it? I think it's safe to assume that their have been many iterations of lp5 leading up to this. And that's also why we get "that's the one, the one we have been waiting for" at the end of this one. They weren't happy, confident or ready with other things that had been worked on.

 

My friend just sent me this text about his first time spinning this album. If you're a fan of the movie The Room I think you'll appreciate it, had me laughing pretty hard.

Listened to this while making turkey burgers and some cheese biscuits. I'm just thankful that I am alive and well to have the opportunity to experience this album.

This local craft beer I'm about to drink more of is going to be so good and so were the 2 cans I just had.

 

If this is really the last album - what a way to go out

 

The band said this in an interview with a Spanish magazine following it's release. It was a track from around the era of DAG and they didn't like it then but decided they "liked it now" but that it wasn't indicative of where they planned to head w LP5. I'm sure there's a translation of the interview if you'd like me to find it

 

If an LP6 does come out next year and it's noticeably worse than this I know I'm going to wish it never came out.

call me crazy, but as much as I would love new music I think this album is the perfect place to stop.
