I'm enjoying this album

 

I looove Lit Me Up but Vices reigns supreme as best opener ever.

 

Vices rules but for me the fight is Lit Me Up vs Sowing Season.

I think the bridge in Sowing Season makes it pretty untouchable though

I'll have to spend some time to figure out favorite songs here. I'm going to listen and think about how I felt during first listen. TDAG had a lot of holy shit moments. Jesus Christ with the return at 4:26 is very cool. Sowing Season was an instant volume cranker.

 

I think my love with Lit Me Up comes from being a real outlier of 1) an opener for Brand New, and 2) a Brand New song at all. It's eerie aspects are so alluring.

 

Vices is the best opener hands down. Vin Accardi and Brian Lane really bring it on that song.

 

Not counting Lit Me Up, because honestly, it's way too early...Sowing Season. All. The. Way.

 

I did love Tautou out the gate, but Sowing Season packs a serious punch. I didn't expect that 'yeah' to show up and I was blown away

 

Great opener. It would be #3 on my list but it's still a fantastic opener.

Brand New is really good at starting off albums.

 

while it wasn't surprising the emo albums didn't get bnm I am still shocked Cymbals didn't get BNM for LOSE.

Would point out that I Am a Nightmare got BNT and while that isn't the same, BN surely has a chance at it bc that track is nowhere near this album

 

I'm surprised IAAN got BNT, seems like it was poppy enough for P4K to shit all over it

 

This. Pitchfork is very pretentious.

 

It's not the mid 2000s anymore, p4k will always be p4k but they're not like "brand new is good at L.I.E.S: Long Island Emo with Screams" anymore or whatever that one review said

Anyway I think I've spent what amounts to a bit over a day listening to this album

 

This is on the HDD Front Page when they're reporting best selling album. The graphic flashes between Kendrick, Doug East and this album.

Same! It's been all Brand New for me practically since the release

 

I've got an 11hr flight to England coming up and I plan on going through BN's whole discography in order and MO's. Gonna be great

 

Don't think there's anything on this album better than Degausser, Limousine, or You Won't Know.

 

It also strikes me whenever someone pronounces it "Deja Aw-TEN-du"

 

Moose Blood did it too. I never liked Moose Blood, and I think that song sucks. I've taken French classes so it does sound awkward to me, I didn't think anyone pronounced it that way until the Moose Blood song. (I've shat on Moose Blood a lot already, so I'll say I do like "Knuckles", that's it)

Then again, I still insist on pronouncing Justin Vernon's project as Bon I-ver, instead of the French way of Bon E-veir, so what do I know (I always knew the French pronunciation, but I didn't think he pronounced it the same way)
