It depends of what you are fueling yourself with. That's a factor

Absolutely. Trying to do a good job of taking in between 1800-2200 cal a day. Most of that is protein, lean carbs, and greens/fruits. I could probably do a better job of bringing in protein though.
Anyone have a recommended (not too expensive) protein powder/pre-bottled protein supplements?

If you are a Costco member, they have a really good one called VEGA.

  4. Cutting on carbs is super hard when I'm living at home, especially when there are party leftovers and that's like all there is in the fridge. Anyone have any luck with intermittent fasting? I skipped breakfast today and felt pretty horrible. Then again, my body is just so used to constantly eating because I'm always hungry.

I always tell friends (and now you :) ) to try to have breakfast daily. Fasting could work out, but I always rely on movement. I don't think carbs are the enemy if you're active. Making portion control a habit is hard, but pays off.

I want to try intermittent fasting, but I need my coffee in the morning. I'm sure you'd get used to it after a while, are you going to try it?

  7. I don't know, maybe I'll skip breakfast at least a couple of days a week when I'm not working, to start.

I think I've been taking the wrong approach to cutting carbs, going about it by counting days of the week. It makes it hard when alternatives just aren't available. My mom cooks, and she's been supportive, but still.

Do you track what you eat? It's helpful. I think skipping meals leads to choosing food that might not be the best for you

I usually do workout videos but I'm at my dads and he has an elliptical so I tried it. Do not like it. Its boring. Not cause its easy (cause its NOT and I can't even do it for very long) but cause it's so repetitive. I only lasted 14 minutes smh

  11. Yeah I think I'm already starting to see that. Not very proud of my choices today.

It's hard to count calories because my mom cooks a lot of what I eat, and also most Asian food places don't tell you how many calories are in anything. I tried cutting carbs because it seemed easier to avoid certain food groups than to count something there are no numbers for.

I understand you. I would try doing things a little differently. When you're out, make sure to drink water while you eats. Fills you up (i know you know this). Don't worry about finishing the meal. Take some home. I am getting better at this. I usually feel like I have to eat what's on my plate and whatever else is in sight. I think you are on to something with your lat sentence in a way. If you aren't that active, make sure to have less carbs if possible.

I like to be engaged in the workout I guess! It distracts from my stress cause I'm focused, whereas my mind wanders to stressful places on the elliptical lol. And idk how to work my dads TV in the garage and his elliptical doesn't have a convenient spot for my phone tbh!!!

No wonder he seems shy on posting leg photos; it sounds like he's completely neglecting half of his body. Still an undeniably impressive transformation though.

It looks like I've put on weight but I think it's strictly muscle. Numbers are deceiving. I certainly look leaner. My biggest vice is that I love partying on the weekends which means a lot of beer and garbage food. Not sure I can give that up lol

I've gotten to the point where I feel a little bit addicted to going to the gym, which is good.

Sweet potatoes really do make a world of difference when you're trying to be healthy.

Ran a 10k (on a treadmill) for the first time ever today. Furthest I've ever run. 56:47.
