I have been doing the same beginner workout for 4 days and I was getting a lil bored so I decided to step it up today and yeah that was defeating lol. Not even just the difficulty level but cause I'm so uncoordinated i straight up couldn't do a lot of it. Like I wasn't getting anything from the move because I need someone to like physically adjust my body and tell me how to do it. I think I still worked out some different muscles but I def don't feel that satisfying sense of completion because I didn't really do it. Also there were soooo many different kinds of lunges that I was just annoyed and over it by the end. I like more varied stuff I guess.

Just be careful! I've definitely made the mistake in the past of trying out excercises I wasn't ready for and hurt myself. Proper form > everything else. I feel like such a nerd when I do bench presses because I can't do anything too heavy but I gotta remind myself that it's better to do the workout correctly at a lighter weight than at a heavier weight with improper form. What sort of routine are you following? Somethin you found online?

I'm just doing fitness blender videos. I started off with the low impact beginner one to get my body used to exercising again, but it started to feel mundane once I got the hang of it. So I tried another video that wasn't labeled beginner and I think it was just too coordinated for me. Like I didn't really get what she was doing or how to make my body do the same thing haha. It required some degree of flexibility and grace I do not possess. So I just started doing the more challenging moves from the beginner video when she would do stuff I didn't get. But then when she was like "okay more lunges for the millionth time!!" I got annoyed and turned it off oop.

I guess I shouldn't feel too defeated cause I just got up and my body def feels like I worked out... I guess I just like the feeling of finishing a workout and I'm disappointed that I didnt. But I'm sure it will shock my body and leave me sore for a few days

The best trainers are the ones that show you modifications for someone that is not at their skill level. It is ridiculous to think someone who has just started to workout after a long time would be at the same level of stamina, strength, etc.

A trainer called me out at the gym for doing an easier variant of an ab exercise yesterday. Flattering, haha.

I considered using a trainer, until I asked what they charge

    Nope, never gonna happen

I just take a couple of the free group classes included with my membership. That one on one cost is ridiculous.

But if you have a question or two, I've found none of them mind. Especially if you've taken their class once or twice.

Going thru fitness blender videos and it's hard finding one I like. Some seem harder than others despite being a similar difficulty range, tho I'm sure it depends on the person's strengths. The videos I love I LOVE, but some others just drag. The one the other day was too hard so I tried a different one today and this one was waaaay too easy. It's for like ppl who have never even heard of the concept of working out. It was soooo slow and so I would move faster but then I'd get kinda bored with it cause I'd do like 30 by the time he did 10. He over-explained simple moves which was also annoying. I like the other videos that shows u what the next workout looks like in the corner before it starts. In this one I had to wait for him to take like a full minute to explain it and it was tough to keep my heartrate up during that time and aside from stretching my muscles I can't imagine i lost as many calories as the FB tracker said. By the end I was yelling "omfg just do the move already and shut up" so yeah I guess that video wasn't for me lol. Oh well. I'm going thru different videos of theirs so I can pick favorites to add to my consistent rotation of workouts

I have been so consistent about my workout/diet routine this past week and it's great but it sucks

I have a hard time with stamina. I have a hard time pushing my body. I know u should listen to ur body and not push it too hard, but I def think I stop when my body gets a lil tired instead of overcoming that. Im sure the more I do it the better i get, but I feel like it's my own personal issue of giving up too easily. I also get bored easily. I can do 30 seconds on but for some reason 45 seconds on is too boring/hard for me to get thru cause i get bored of the repetition

So I ask this earlier but the discussion got derailed but does anyone have a weight/food diary app they suggest. I use MFP but I've grown tired of it and curious if anything else is out there that is good.

If I could just forget it

Recently I stopped eating sugar and learned to be a little hungry throughout the day. Coupled with exercise for an hour 4-5 times a week and I've already dropped five pounds in two weeks. It doesn't seem like much but I feel great about it, and ten pounds should be easily within reach. Just want to further emphasize that consistency is the key, and encourage everyone to stick with whatever plan they've developed.

I sure miss ice cream though.

I think a side note to that is to not completely deny yourself something because your body will begin to crave it and then it's possible to actually binge on it, especially something like sugar. Allow yourself a cheat day with maybe a small bowl of ice cream or every time you crave that sugar, eat something healthy like fruit, which will actually satisfy the same receptors in the brain and is a great alternative.

That's a great point and something I failed to articulate. I should have said added sugar. I've found the sweetest apples I could to satisfy that craving, and I don't worry about the natural sugar content of anything. It's the things like ice cream and candy and dessert at restaurants that I've been training myself to to pass on.

It is so frustrating to me when I tell people I'm either dieting or exercising and they go, "What? Why!? But you're already skinny?" First of all, "skinny" is not synonymous with "healthy". A lot of me wanting to get fit has to do with health issues that my family has experienced in the past and me wanting to combat that. Second of all, if I'm not happy with my body and I want to get toned, why does it matter to you?

Maybe laziness on their part. A coworker of mine lost some weight and realized they like to exercise. Now family and friends tell them to stop. "You're so thin!" Sadly the family members are heavier and don't make the effort to change their ways. Keep up the hard work. Don't let the outside voices get inside

Thanks bud, I'm trying. It literally took everything in me to make it to the gym today but I was there.

Good. After 15 minutes it's all downhill. I used to dread going to gym. Looked for every excuse to skip "I'll do an extended set tomorrow, etc." I would look at myself and realize I'm not helping myself. The time flies by and the results will show.

    Slow down, Quentin Supporter

Been holding steady at 190 for a while now, and I think that's a good place to be. I'd like to drop down to 185, but now I need to figure out how to go from weight loss to maintaining level of fat+add ng muscle. Any tips? Got access to a gym with decent equipment. Been used to working out once a day, alternating between cardio (30 min high intensity on elyptical) and weight lifting (alternating between chest/arms, back/arms, and shoulders, abs every day).

I would say you are doing great gym wise. Maybe add more protein to your diet and really try to eliminate as many carbs as you can to reach your goal.
