I definitely get that (or a NIN) vibe there.

Thanks, I'm okay, I'll be better in a few months. Yeah, that's what I'm waiting for. Later today, I'll be alone. Honestly, with it being the last record from a band who's meant so much to me for more than half my life, I want to be alone to listen so that it's not weird if I cry.

Yeah, i mean, if streaming services were actually just streaming then I probably wouldn't use them but you can download whatever you want, seems pretty hassle-free to me

Totally understand. Between this, the new Julien song, and the new Noah Gundersen song, the tears have been flowing pretty freely over the last week.

    Hahaha come on...

It's brand new. But there is a Google doc people have made and are pretty accurate overall.

I missed about the last half day of this thread and lying in bed this am just went and liked about 25 posts about how great Deja is so today's off to a good start (sorry 4 the notification indundation @OhTheWater)

Quiet Things>Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot>Jaws GOAT stretch in this band's catalog

SciFi is still really blowing my mind but I don't like Desert yet it's hella boring

Gave the demos a good listen on Friday and fuck that is an excellent set of songs. Studio Good Man before this band hangs it up for good, pleasee

I've been using genius and it seems pretty accurate. Didn't the google docs get taken over by the alt right or something, or was that someone making a bad joke?

Desert is the only one here that doesn't do much for me

Ummmm the doc seems fine to me. Haha guessing that was a joke. Although the bottom part where they wanted people to leave feedback is not something I have bothered to look at. So maybe?

I personally think it's a highlight, such a different song and a pretty powerful message. Also the vocal delivery is so incredible. Love the guitar work.

    Desert is fantastic.

"Don't come running to me when they're coming for you" is a killer hook. Then the subtle shift to "gunning". Love it.

Lyrically Desert is fairly impressive but it does absolutely nothing for me musically. Those falsettos are ughh and it's the one point of the entire album that drags for me. Boring af especially that deep into an hr long album.

Just curious, but do you ever listen to music from your phone? Do you plug it into speakers or your car? Ever plug headphones into it? How do you listen to music regularly?

Out Of Range is superb and so are Vin's "well I've tried, god knows that I've tried" parts on Noro. Love the vibe those parts bring to that especially.

No control is probably the weakest song on the record, I like it, and I really love the second low vocal that comes in during the chorus. But it seems the least essential, but it definitely works and it's a nice little short in and out song.

My two favorite songs are Could Never be Heaven and Desert so far. Seeing a lot of dislike for both in here.

    Interesting.

That sample at the end of "Could Never Be Heaven"... is that from My Dinner With Andre?

Sounds a lot like Andre Gregory from that film.
