  1. This album reminds me a lot of R.E.M. at times

    Meet me in Montauk

The solo on 137 actually reminds me of Nobody Moves' "breakdown." Very reluctant to call it that. But you know what I mean

weirdly enough, "Mene" always reminded me of their version of "Driver 8." I think the band (or at least Jesse) are big fans, so it would make sense for them to flesh out that influence more here

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

There's a nearly-schizophrenic feel in some songs that draws parallels to it as well (Watermelon and War Streets come to mind), good catch.

I actually think that Vins "southern vibe" playing in this album was foreshadowed a lot on Daisy. The guitar in Be Gone, At The Bottom, In A Jar, some stuff deeper in the mix on bought a bride. Also pre-Science Fiction, I think Bought A Bride could've been Vins best moment on guitar.
I definitely agree that it's come through full force now though.

It's also incredible how this album has changed my perspective on Daisy as an album. It made me realize "oh wow, I never really considered the fact that Brand New could put out an album with all these southern sounding licks, but looking back at Daisy with what I know now it actually becomes pretty obvious that's where Vin was going".

I can't get Waste out of my head. Also I really love the Weezer influence on Can't Get It Out.

Brand New has always been way better than Thirce if we are being real.

Don't get me wrong, Thrice is cool but they are no Brand New.

You Know I was thinking 137 would be a perfect opener to a show. Going from that soft ballad sound into that guitar solo would be an amazing way to start the show.

If it were up to me I'd start the show: 137 ->Jude Law-> Sic Transit-> then into some Devil and God songs

Why not? Someone asked about said debate and I gave them my honest answer.

I don't care if people dislike the album. Just like I don't care if people actually like Daisy.

I just missunderstood and thought you hadn't even heard YWF. You have every right to dislike YFW.

I will still call the album a masterpiece, personally.

Weird. It's on the band's page now with all the songs listed but it still says unavailable when I click on a song

Hmmm, did you import local files of the album to Spotify? If so you would need to unlink those files for it to work again. If not, I don;t know what to tell you. That must be a problem on your end because it works perfectly fine for me.

    Also, nice username!!

Wasn't meant to be condescending. I just honestly can't imagine doing that. Just seems like it would be frustrating, which you are proving. Sorry for expressing a thought.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Some people just don't have any other way to listen. And really, if albums don't leak early, digital streaming services are the earliest way to listen to an album. No need for getting defensive.

Sounds awful to me. I'm thankful I've never really been forced to listen to music that way.

The verses in Out Of Mana sound straight out of a nine inch nails song, no?

....why is listening on streaming services "awful"? genuinely have no idea where you're coming from here
