it gets padded over by his four leagues in a row w/ ajax, but he's just not a good manager. i couldn't believe people were talking about him bringing attacking flair to palace, his ajax teams were turgid and boring, depending on people like lasse schone to spark something. he threw away a league at ajax and had been destroyed by psv the year before. his first few titles came as psv and feyenoord were completely rebuilding. he's beyond overrated

 

Really thought palace would have gone for the guy who is now managing Watford (name is escaping me). Decent crop of players who need a good manager. Feels like he'd have got the bill perfectly.

 

As an Ajax fan myself, I 100% agree with this De Boer assessment. He is dire, and his last 2 seasons' teams played some of the most boring football I've ever seen. He has no 'plan B' whatsoever, and what may have worked for Ajax (ott possession bullshit) will not work for Crystal Palace. He will be the first manger sacked this season.

Gayle has been pointless. He looks way off the pace. I'd throw Mitro into the mix. Huddersfield are playing hard and giving us no time. Mitro might mean we can actually hold onto the ball in their half.
