I spent way too much money on this band in the past week.

 

You just gotta listen to it friend. I started typing a description half a dozen times and came up short haha

I still can't believe we are sitting here listening to and discussing Brand New LP5, but here we all are. I had honestly started to think the day would never come.

I've only been able to listen to it in pieces so far, and I really want to sit down and listen to the entire album all the way through a few times. Every song on here is great, and there are moments and whole songs that absolutely blow me away. The only song I wasn't absolutely sure of at first was 451 - it started off great, then it reeeeally started to remind me of Marilyn Manson, but then it won me over in a big way by the end.

 

That's funny you mention that, because I actually got serious Pink Floyd vibes from In The Water.

 

I read something the other day from AltPress about the call backs that said the Seven Years part was a call back to Limousine haha

 

I think it may be, they say it 7 times and Katie Flynn was 7 years old...

 

It certainly fits but to me it seems like a pretty clear reference to the time it took to release the album because of the Daisy sample that comes right before it.

 

Interesting. I thought it was in reference to the number of years since daisy and that that snippet was created for the 2016 release, and they just kept it.

I received my email pretty quickly after making the purchase. I first went to the order page about 30 minutes after the initial announcement and it was sold out, but checked about an hour later and happened to get in and purchase it. I received the email about 5 minutes after my order

AMEN!!!!! Finally someone said it. Radio head is one of the most overrated bands of all time. I know a lot of rap fans who listen to Radiohead and Tame Impala only when it comes to rock just so they can be "cool" with the rock scene. Stop trying to fit in and do what you do.

It's a great song, don't know why anyone would think different. Same with Guernica, that's a top 20 Brand New song!

You can't call yourself a Brand new fan if you haven't heard all their albums. There are exceptions to this rule with the main one being the singer was replaced but if you haven't heard all theit albums you are just a poser. Even if you don't think you will like it, you need to listen to it once!

Congrats to Brand New!!!! Let's hope it stays up there and it charts well!
