I'd describe myself as a super casual fan of this band - I only got into them within the past few years because of their ungodly popularity on this site. I've grown to really like Deja and TDAG. I'd tend to agree that this record is more boring on average than those two. But I've probably spent a total of 10-20 hours listening to BN, as opposed to hundreds for a lot of people here, so what I think doesn't mean much by my own admission.

"Same Logic" seems like the glaringly obvious pick for the highlight, and a song anyone who loves music should be able to appreciate. I guess the issue for me, perhaps related to your perception, is the abundance of stripped-down/acoustic numbers where some of them don't have anywhere near the musical intrigue or atmosphere of something like "Luca" or "Handcuffs."

I really like both Folie a Deux and Daisy haha. I've never understood the hate for either both have got some of each bands best work on.

I'll just give it a couple days since I don't need it on Spotify to listen to it.

Even if it takes time, I'm sure it will be out on there.

I was hoping this record would be Gasoline on steroids but I'm glad we got what we did.

Hope you're well, man. Find some time to yourself, it's a record built for a solitary focused experience.

  12. Does anyone else feel really bad for Manchester Orchestra? They only got to spend three weeks in the limelight

Playing this album in the car on the way to the cottage and now at the cottage has been fucking perfect. Now jamming TDAG because whats better than playing 1 masterpiece, playing 2 masterpieces back to back on the veranda with birds in the background. Can't wait to play SF at night! What a great nightime album

Nah, I don't feel bad. This happens all the time in the music business. If people like the Manchester album, they aren't going to forget about.

As for me personally both those albums as well as but 8 others from this year will stick with me for eternity.

Of an album full of goodbyes, I can't turn off "137" bc it feels especially like a swan song. Man, the momentum they have going into that final chorus. Perma-chills.

Not to mention that the drum part underneath the final "let's all go and meet our maker" just lifts this motherfucker UP

Man, Jesse's vocals in Desert might be his best vocals ever.

Please tell I'm not alone in that haha, so so good!
