sorry, i'm just livestreaming thoughts right now. find it interesting how "Desert" takes a style of music most other artists would likely reserve for lyrical sexuality and make it about overt homophobia. wonder if that was premeditated

Alright, thanks for the response. So same prices as Spotify. I pay $5 a month for Spotify because they still think I'm a student lamo

I totally forgot you could get Apple music on android. I might have to try it out some time
I do pay for Spotify I was just asking about Apple Music

Soundgarden is great. I could never get into Alice and Chains though personally.

    Meet me in Montauk

Just drove for a good 30 minutes on the highway while it was raining pretty hard. It was the perfect atmosphere for listening to this album ❤❤❤

I know they're two completely distinct songwriters from two drastically different bands, but you cannot look me in the face and honestly tell me that nothing from the first half of the chorus of "451" wouldn't fit in a Pat Stump melody. The pauses in the way he sings "Last thread, dancing, dead," the way he slides over "feeling" right after that, it's almost pure Fall Out Boy, lol. Call me crazy, but i'm dying on this hill.

edit: listening again. Maybe not the solo, but on the whole, standing by it even harder. "451" is FOB on downers. Even the playful "wait wait" is way more of a Fall Out Boy move.

SECOND EDIT: THE KEY CHANGE. gtfo out of here. what band am i listening to

    I just finished listen 18.

It hasn't even been 48 hours.

I don't think I have ever listened to one album that much in such a short period of time.

I know, 18 is insane but I'm not worried about that.

I took a break yesterday and put on Your Favorite Weapon.

Took multiple breaks throughout today putting on Your Favorite Weapon, Deja Entendu, Black Mile by Mancherster Orchestra, and the new Steven Wilson album- To The Bone. I played Black Mile and To the Bone back to back so I think that really helped before going back to Science Fiction for the 18th listen.

Spotify is not terrible. Having said that I haven't used Apple Music.

Since people here hate lists, I won't post it here but I'm currently trying to narrow down 29 songs to 20 songs and order my top 20 Brand New songs. My top 5 was easy but the rest is going to be really, really hard.

Our lists are very similar, just switch Lit Me Up for Could Never Be Heaven.

I'm really liking the guitars on all of these. The spacey quality on Batter Up is delightful.

Yep, car. Walk would be amazing for sure, but I'll take by car. Most venues are south of me and 30 or so minutes.

I guess I'm not familiar with his music much at all besides the few big hits. I suppose it does start to lean ever so slightly towards gothic/industrial

    1) 451: that grooooove

    2) Could Never Be Heaven: totally reminds me of the beginning of Luca, but a whole song.

    3) 137: that. Solo.

I think that's my favorite part of the album. For me the highlight of Bran New albums are usually Jesse's vocals but on this album the guitar takes the cake. It's just so interesting. Their best album instrumentally to date I'd say. I personally think this album has some of my favorite guitar work that I have ever heard in my entire life. It's life changing really.

We have the same top 2 but just reversed

Well Desert might be in my top 2. Basically those 3 songs are my top 3 and it's hard to order they are all orgasmic.
