I use a mix of Poweramp and Spotify for a variety of reasons, that being one of them.

I don't know what people are talking about with the mastering on this record, they must be listening to it on youtube or something. I actually think Brand New have had really great/appropriate mixing and mastering on every record except for TDAG. That record sounds brickwalled in some of the loudest sections (Degausser chorus especially). You can hear it real bad in the drum overheads sometimes. Most of the record is fine, but those couple moments always make me wonder what a remix/remaster of that record would sound like. I'd love a reissue.

Yeah, I understand now. I guess my solution was just using both Poweramp and Spotify. Been using the combination of both ever since I switched to Android so it's just habit to me.

def know most of these songs well enough to have a good handful of the lyrics down, and HOT DOG, these are fun ones to sing. fantastic vocal melodies, lots of fun pauses and groupings

You're very right, there are sequences here that will lift words from your lungs before you can think about stopping them from escaping.

Also, genius.com is fighting me hard on the chorus of "137." It's clearly "ringin' round the bunkers" to open chorus 2, not "ring and run the bunkers."

glad the piano/organs have made a comeback on this album. theyve never been like a super dominant instrument or anything but their presence was missed on Daisy

 

its 10 dollars for all the music

 

i also honestly think that big fans of this band and particularly this album who aren't already familiar with soundgarden or alice in chains would probably be way more into both those bands than they maybe realize.

i know grunge is pretty stigmatized, often for good reason, but like, the great parts of those two groups, especially the odd interplay of acoustic/electric almost perfected by AIC, really show up beautifully all over this thing

 

yeah, at this point if you use iTunes and you can afford apple music then it should be a no brainer
