Their first album in eight years, and Brand New are a notorious grower band, yet reviews are coming out less than 24 hours after it suddenly released out of nowhere. Not saying it's a bad review, but would prefer people took a bit longer over it.

 

I feel you. I had the white vinyl in my shopping cart all morning but couldn't justify buying it since I already got the limited vinyl on Tuesday. Now I wish I had just splurged and got it anyways because this album is worth it

Glad I'm not alone there. I always hear slight things in songs that bring others to my mind and nobody else can usually hear it haha

 

The crowd singing along and then Jesse changing up the lyrics to "I'm just jealous because you're young and in love" will stick around with me forever. Now I'm the age Jesse was during that show, I sometimes change it up to that when I'm singing along to it in my car.

I expect reviews to come out in 3 years.

 

Pretty sure it's also a common number in Science but I could be wrong. Maybe we are thinking of the same things but putting under different categories. Someone explained it all in here yesterday.

 

I'm already ready to go in another time, this time with lyrics in front of me.

 

I hope you don't give any opinions on this for a long time.

 

I'm honestly glad they scraped that album last year (?) because whatever it was, I guarantee it wasn't better than what we just got.

 

I think Can't Get It Out is one of the best songs they've ever written

 

Through time I've become more of a casual fan. It's like I went to school with them and we drifted a little. Sounds strange I'm sure. I feel like this album is an incident in their life just happened and it's brought us closer. Maybe a random run in at the local Wawa and life changes. I want to know what's going on now, more than dissecting their past. If this was reddit, I'd get downvoted to hell. I'm really into the conversation here and it's definitely bringing me back. Thanks for reading my mini novel :)

 

I'm actually surprised there wernt reviews released last night. When Radiohead came out everyone rushed to get a review out in 24 hours

 

Difference is I'm not publishing reviews on it. I know it's an inevitability with literally every new album ever, but the whole rush to post a review first is one of my least favourite aspects of music journalism lately. It's complex art, give it time.

 

Once I get home I'm going to try to review my top 10 Brand new songs list, have a list of 29 songs and it's going to hell to try to figure out what to remove.

 

Feels good right? Like they gave you a little valentine before the world got a chance to think about it

 

Technically it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. Also, this was a surprise drop so it may take some time for reviews to come out for this.
