Definitely, my Maccabees obsessed friend (what_simon_saw) is going to be there too.

 

Think that's one of my favourites so far. Being anti-social at work today and listening to this all day haha.

 

I think my favourite songs after the first few listens are the two number songs.

 

Yeah, I'm loving that, Could Never Be Heaven & Batter Up at the moment. There's nothing I dislike at the moment though, which is a refreshing change to Daisy.

 

In 'Could Never Be Heaven', the 'get out of my head' sounds so much like Morrissey/The Smiths. Well, the whole song has a very Smiths feel to me anyway, but especially that bit.

 

Ah nice yeah I follow him online so that's awesome!

 

I really get the feeling that this is a concept album. Haven't really listened closely to the lyrics yet but the different recordings (the dream after therapy, the manic laughter etc) seems like an overarching theme.

I love things like that in music. It reminds me of, among other things, the end of Baby Blue by Deafheaven with the closed bridge announcement on the radio. Started listening to the album (Science Fiction) again while walking to the bus from work yesterday. Walked through the city streets in the dark with the story about the dream in my headphones. It created a kind of creepy mood.

Edit: Any theories? Concept album or not? What's the theme/story?

Damn I guess it never made it to Apple Music last night.

 

Hoping this comes to Spotify soon cuz laptop is busted and until I cough up 500$ to fix it or more to replace it I have no laptop and just have to stream shit from my pjone

 

Not Spotify either. Seems like it won't be on any streaming services, at least for a while. I transfered my mp3s to the iOS app so at least I can scrobble the album

So weird that another band has already used the album artwork for this album in 2013/2011

 

I love Brand New, probably the most influential band of my life but I just can't connect with this.
It's so broody and monotone. I was hoping we were going to get a bit more Fork and Knife vibes ya know, a bit more cheerful now that they're older and after reading about his criticisms about Daisy.
I was going to go to the Glasgow show, but I have no desire to hear songs like this live really, and no desire to listen to this again.

I guess this is growing up.

 

Has anyone bought tickets for Brooklyn yet? I see that platinum seats have been made available just now but I'm sure general sale isn't until 9am local time which is 5pm for me. Platinum are $395 each. Will have to pas on those. Haha. I'm hoping I haven't missed out on GA yet or even cheaper seats. I'm hoping that they go onsale at the time stated and that they weren't released earlier. Haha

I've been trying to get tickets as well. Don't think they were put on sale yet other than the Platinum bullshit

Also dont like the album artwork has been used before.. Seems kinda weird..

 

Yeah. I thought that. Thanks. My heart stopped when I saw the prices. Haha. I'm not used to Ticketmaster US either. So wasn't sure what the story was with platinum tickets. Haha. Do platinum usually go on sale before GA?

 

Snagged tickets to the London show. Psyched!
