It's Friday in the UK and it's not on spotify, usually updates at midnight, it did for Black Mile anyway.

I didn't know I could be more excited to hear this than I already am, but that definitely amps it up even more. I trust your opinion a lot from being on here/AP, I'm so glad this had such a profound effect on you

Also, what is the 3rd album in that 3 way tie? I know one of them is ACBTLD.

This is probably the last chance we have to be hyperbolic about this band and I'm going to take full advantage.

Daisy is wayyyy better than this album, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better than TDAG

I have not posted on AP in like 7 or 8 years. But the time has arrived for one to come back....

This is musically their most diverse and interesting record to date and i really can't wait to dive deeper into Jesse's lyrics on repeated listens. I'm like 110% confident this will end up being their best album.

And bruh.... don't get me started on the guitar tones. I can literally feel the pressure they are applying on each fret in my ears; jazzmasters for days.

This is exactly how I feel about the new Neck Deep album.

They held the crown of Album of the Year for only 3 days

  9. :crylaugh: that didn't take long

  10. The only crown Neck Deep ever held was one they stole from a kid at Burger King. ;-p

Instrumentally it's probably their best album.

Was Daisy even a good album? I don’t think I’ve listened to it in maybe 6-7 years. TDAG is likely my #1 album though.

To be fair I was surprised that the Neck Deep album was better than the new Halsey, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey and Queens of the Stone Age albums. I was expecting it to be good but it was really THAT good.

I hope it's a sweet jam session at live shows.

everyone hating on daisy is my enemy

it's a great eerie record that considerably informs the new record's eerieness

Oh yeah Daisy is amazing and I love those songs live.

  17. I'm mostly surprised someone listened to it all the way through. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The actual sound of this record is phenomenal. I'm very glad that's the case considering I didn't like the production/mixing of IAAN at all

It's alright, not as catchy as the last album. Pretty fun band live though.

    Absolutely.

TDAG is now their 4th best album in my opinion. and TDAG is AMAZING so that's just telling how good this band is.

On the BN scale/rating system, Daisy is a solid 7/10 for me. Good but not great.

TDAG is 9.5/10 but at times is a hard listen simply due to the lyrics and story telling getting exceptionally dark and heavy.

  24. I think they're a bad band full of some bad people. If that wasn't coming across. Heh.

Absolutely love this album (both after first listen, and even more on each subsequent listen).

    A few random thoughts:

    - Lit Me Up is my favourite Brand New album opener. The chills I get as it slowly builds up, and then when Jesse's voice enters... it's just incredible.

    - Can't Get It Out is probably my favourite, at least at this early stage. Probably the one I'd choose as a single if there had to be one. That chorus is classic Brand New.

    - Really great use of those weird samples/recordings throught the album, I think it ties it all together perfectly.

    - "Well you could turn to water and we'd all float on", a nod to Modest Mouse?

    - Assuming this is the band's last release, Batter Up feels like the perfect ending.
