Prefacing this by saying I don’t think Sergi Roberto is that good. But IMAGINE having Sergi Roberto and signing Andre Gomes to play ahead of him in midfield and if that’s not enough then signing Paulinho to play ahead of him.

Suarez has been shite, looks like he’s aged ten years. You have no midfield and without that your defence if far more fragile. You have no out ball. Was Suarez this anonymous in other pre season games? I fear for Valverde. Didn’t want him to join Barca and will probably be the boards scapegoat if things do keep going wrong.

Kinda, yeah. But the focus has been (is still?) on Neymar that it kinda clouded all of preseason and made it hard to watch much of else? We actually looked pretty good in preseason, so who knows. Suarez hit a dry patch to end the season last season, too. Wonder if we'd give Paco a run to see if he can get going.

And yeah, I like Valverde, but I see him not being here come December unless they splash a lot of cash on players to make a difference.
