You Stole is one of Brand New's best songs. Fight me.

 

There was a time right when I finally started enjoying Daisy where I thought musically and lyrically You Stole was their best. I’ve cooldown on it since then, but it does pretty much capture everything that I love about Brand New. The production (THOSE DRUM SOUNDS) create the perfect soft/loud dynamic. All the fuzzy guitars and bass. Mmmmmm. Great song.

Daisy just puts me in this mood, can't explain it but it's one of my favorite albums

 

Clearly someone doesn't like YFW or Daisy.

 

Well that's why bad is in quotes, half their fans hate YFW half their fans hate Daisy, hence a ranking of 'bad' brand new songs.

I'd say we're talking (imo) excellent songs for the first like 8 on that list, good but flawed for the next 10 or so, then actually bad once you get to the lesser Daisy songs.

 

Daisy is my second favorite BN album. The Modest Mouse influences throughout it are so prominent.

The "step out of the car and grumpily flip off the first smiling person you see for no good reason at all" mood is what Daisy puts me in lol. Most of the time I listen to it in seclusion, as the lyrics and overall theme have a tendency to put me in a less-than-cheerful mental place. One of few records, personally, where displacing emotion from technicalities can be super difficult.

 

I like the effect used at the end of the guitar solo that sounds like a gun from Star Wars

Out of Range is a top 5 Brand New track for me. Still remember the day it leaked/found its way online.

 

On a random note, I love old Arcade Fire, but what is this shit? Their new album is repetitive, overproduced shit.

The new Arcade Fire is the most disappointed I've been by a band I love in a long while. That album is really, really bad.
