Not sure about the correlation between the two issues here...Not sure why your opinion of one issue would excuse the other. TWIABP's ham-fisted response justifying the killing of cops in Dallas was fundamentally wrong and it's no surprise they deleted them. Really disappointing.

 

the correlation is that: i don't truly have a problem with the expression of those feelings while the other one i do.

 

if you don't want to support the band because of that, fine. i have no problem with that. but i better see you going against bands that have done more horrible things.

 

I mean we had Nazis parading the streets this weekend with almost no resistance from cops, so I'd say there are more important issues than TWIABP tweets from however long ago to worry about.

Well you're free to your opinion. I have family members in law enforcement so I have a real problem with the band's suggestion for all law enforcement to "blow their fucking brains out" and I don't think their hatred is excused by the fact that there are "worse" issues in the scene. If the band has a problem with law enforcement I'd hope they have a more mature and frankly more intelligent take on the matter than that crap they vomited on their twitter page.

 

it is incredibly understandable to have the feelings that they do about the issue. there is nothing wrong about having those feelings about cops

 

What are "those feelings?" That they should all die? I mean, seriously... I can't condone the killing of any group based on the acts of a few. There are obviously a myriad of issues with the institution but I'm not sure how anyone can condone the killing of innocent people.

"innocent" is the key word. people believe that solely by taking place in the system they are taking part in a disgusting system.

There's no way he could pull off those vocals for a full set let alone a tour.

 

There is nothing understandable about the take they had and I find it incredibly irresponsible of them to take that stance... I had friends and family in law enforcement who do great things for the community and people in need everyday. There are corrupt individuals in this system like there are in any other line of work. The horrible work done by individuals is giving the great work of thousands a bad name, and suggesting that all cops blow their brains out is sickening and honestly you come off just as disgusting for not only condoning it but encouraging the sentiment.

This is an important factor that people don't always understand. If you work for a shitty company and excuse yourself from the moralities of it because "I'm just doing my job", then you're just as shit as the company (in this case, force/organization) that you directly represent.

This concept absolutely applies to cops. None of them are innocent, or they'd have made more logical and moral career choices. That is where I'll end this before it becomes a new conversation lmao. :)

 

Yeah, my dad has emphasized to me since I was a young child about the inherent corruption of the justice system. I blew it off in high school, but nowadays I understand why he warned me so frequently.
