I can't imagine a poster on chorus.fm who hasn't heard of I Prevail in the past 12 months. This headliner will sell out a lot of shows. Huge get for WCAR as they desperately need to gain a fanbase again. Huge for TWA as they want to play bigger headline shows in the future. For ETF, similar case as WCAR, they need to regrow the fanbase. This will be one of the top tours of the fall.

The craziest thing about I Prevail's popularity is that people actually enjoy shitty metal core covers of pop songs (and always say they are "better than the original")

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I've heard one I Prevail song on accident

I found out how popular they were from this thread, and I'm very confused by it. I'm honestly very confused at how popular a lot of the bands in this thread are.

i mean, is it surprising? makes sense based on the active cycling of popular bands based on one generation aging out of it and a new one coming in with new bands, as said earlier in this thread very few of these bands usually have a super long shelf life or stay at the top of their popularity very long because of that

oh my god, I'm back on my bullshit Prestigious

It doesn't make sense to me that I prevail seems way more popular than the other mediocre metalcore bands around right now. Like all these bands sound really similar so why is one way more popular than the others? Does a bad cover really do that for a band?

why does any particular mediocre band that sounds like a slightly less mediocre band get bigger than another? luck and marketing, mostly

Well, I think they're the only band to have cornered both mainstream rock radio and the metalcore scene at the same time. Usually a band is huge in one and then attempts to go into another direction. ADTR is a perfect example of that. Same with BMTH and Parkway. I Prevail was doing both at the same time and it worked out. They have the Fearless Records type of fans and also the Sirius XM Octane fans. They do have some catchy songs but nothing groundbreaking in my opinion.

FFAK tour announcement pushed back to next week, confirmed to be a co-headliner.

    FUCK!

I just saw Ryan's tweet too. Maybe FFAK/LMTF co-headline? I somewhat refuse to believe IHW somehow got bigger than the latter band over here.

As explained in a couple of pages before, all 3 of those bands fanbases fell hard when their fanbases "grew up" and I Prevail has a new generation of teen fans. Someone even in this thread said that they used to listen to WCAR a lot when they were 16 but grew out of it. That isn't uncommon and that's where most of their once fanbase is at now, probably the same situation with FIR and TWA. I knew a looot of people who listened to WCAR in their late teens around 2010 but now literally none of those people care about them at all anymore and would never go out of their way to see them unless it was convenient for them at a festival for nostalgic purposes.

I'm pretty sure Escape The Fate has headlined and filled up majority of the venues this tour will hit up. Last I heard one of ETFs last headliners had less than half the room filled at a 750 cap room.

I'm pretty sure IHW is bigger than LMTF in the US right now. Their popularity didn't come out of nowhere. LMTF has fallen off and IHW has been steadily growing a US fanbase from the past 6 tours they've done here in the past couple of years. I caught them on their first US tour and not many people knew who they were but, the last time I saw them with August Burns Red earlier this year, they had majority of the crowd going off and a lot of people singing the words. Also they've been headlining and selling out 1-2k venues a night in Austrailia for the past couple of years now.

This makes a lot of sense. Either way, stoked for the whole package, and is a great first U.S. headliner for IHW.
