dont know how much truth there is to that Christian Ponder shit but goddamn hahahaha. Dude has literally never been good. Cutler was fun to argue about... but whoever Pondered that clearly senseless idea needs to get thrown off a balcony

lol we can see what demographic they're targeting. A guy who supports Trump, a guy whose name is Christian, the second coming of Tim "His Grace" Tebow... all the while avoiding the #BLM supporting QB who is better than all of them

Where's that one dude from AP who thought Ponder was gonna be the next Brady cause he lived next to him for a year in college or whatever

For how much the NFL likes to snuff out controversy; yet how beloved Tebow is in the sports media, that shit would have been amazing.

And his first 3 INT game in preseason would have been the best

    Lets Go. Prestigious

    1. QBR is a bogus meaningless made up stat
    2. They DID consider Kaepernick.
    3. Is it really THAT crazy that they "looked at" all the guys that the coach has a history with? That's how life works.

  12. Yeah it probably wouldn't really matter either way - it's more fun to joke on Cutler too. I for one am glad he is back in the league. With or without Tannehill the dolphins are due for some major regression in 2017

This is the best Miami team that I can remember in a while. With Tannehill, they would at the very least compete for a Wild Card spot.

Without him, they are probably a 6-8 win football team that could still overachieve with Jay Cutler.

  14. You may be right - but luck was on their side last season: fourth easiest schedule 8-2 in games decided by 7 or less points 8-1 against teams that were in the bottom 10 record wise (with 7 of those wins by a touchdown or less) and a point differential of -17

With Tannehill they are a 7-9 win team and with Cutler they are probably anywhere been 5-8 - I don't think the drop off between Tannehill and Cutler is that extreme

    benjamin? Prestigious

Jay Cutler has won more than eight games twice in his career.

His biggest (see: only) playoff moment was getting outplayed by a person whose name I had to look up to finish this post.

Brandon said it best - he knows the coach, that's life.

Bortles threw 5 INTs his first training camp practice. Throw Kaep money to come to our sad, sorry little cesspool.

Seeing ARob and Lee get better and better at the catch point, almost makes Bortles ill-advised 50-50 passes worthwhile -- maybe they'll get so good at bailing him out of bad throws that they become way better receivers. I really think Demaryius Thomas actually benefitted from playing for Tim Tebow in the same way. Then you draft a QB who actually LEARNS, and he has WRs who bail him out of his early mistakes to build his confidence. Because they already spent four years picking up more slack for a worse QB lol.

But theoreticals aside, fuck it, at this point just want to prove to Miami that Kaep would absolutely improve upon backup-level QB play. (Cutler on the other hand very believably could get benched for Matt Moore at some point.)

Kaep is honestly a better fit for them because I think Landry and Carroo are more in-line with Kaep's receiver style. But again, "fit" isn't everything and we would win more games with Kaepernick, absolutely. Defenses having to account for both him and Fournette in the running game would create one-on-ones across the board in the passing game. If our goals were short term and we were a better team ready to "compete now", he'd be signed already in my book. (but we suck and I'd rather start over at QB completely than sign a stopgap)

what do you consider "major regression", exactly? The team this year is much better on paper than it was last year. They didn't have Reshad Jones or Mike Pouncey for essentially all of last year and the LB corps was Kiko Alonso and a bunch of bums. Now they at least have some players there.

Their quarterback is now Jay Cutler is surely what he meant.

but is 7-9 wins (with Tannehill) a "major regression" from 10 wins last year? I guess we just have different definitions.

    anyways,

Brock Lobster named the starter for Week 1 of the preseason. If he's serviceable at the least, than that's such an unreal haul for the Browns

  24. Man that would be something if they could get CJ but no chance Detroit releases him from his contract without getting major assets back

  25. Anyways I hope Cutler does really well cuz it'd be funny to see that happen to Bear fans.

Best case for Miami is Cutler has a second act renaissance like Carson Palmer and Kurt Warner and Miami goes deep into the postseason and then can get rid of all the money they have tied to Tannehill
