@BoldTitan I would like to know if there are two separate tragedies. For example, if the events in "The Alien" are seperate from those in "The Grocery".

And if you're able to ask another, I would like to know which brother, if either, did the shooting.

Those, along with @teebs41 question are the ones I feel are most important. That being said, there are a ton more I could ask, but I won't overload you. Haha

 

Also thought one interesting twist would be if the "disease" or mental affliction wasn't actually physical but was rather a form of psychological damage brought on by toiling away in the mines. The idea that it was passed down hereditarily could just be a false assumption by the brothers, assuming their grandfather and father all also worked in the mine and only the brother who shot up the grocery worked in the mine. So the worries of the next generation having the same affliction would then be unfounded, but the mother would still be behaving toward the daughter as if they weren't; this would then potentially cause its own host of problems down the line. Like the daughter raised as if she's a ticking time bomb when she actually isn't because she didn't work in the mine.

I don't know, just an idea, not saying it's supported at all in the lyrics. Just thought it would bring a whole other dimension to the story, like a critique of harsh labor conditions and how the stress of trying to support a family in such extreme occupations can be more harmful than helpful.

 

Ummm, did anyone else get another shipment notification? I received my vinyl last Wednesday and I just got another e-mail this morning with the headline: "A Shipment from order # is on the way."

Ever since I downloaded the copy I got from ticketmaster to my computer. When I try to play it from spotify it works half the time. The other half it says "Song is not available. If you have it please upload it" When I try to just play the album normally off spotify. The alien works but nothing else does.

I had to delete the album and restart my computer. Weird.

 

have you tried turning it off and on again?

 

I did indeed. That's what I get for trying to upload the actual album instead of just streaming it lol. Problem solved by deleting.

 

I downloaded the album onto my computer but didn't put it into iTunes this way they get the sale for the download and I can still stream from Apple Music and help them that way too..

 

Also bought it on cd and vinyl soo lol

 

I play from spotify to give them the fraction of the penny each time because I already own almost every pressing and CD they've ever done lol.

Sorry Jesse but when andy has put out 11 albums that I really enjoy and many of them that I love it's hard to compare to brand news 4 albums even if devil and god may be better than them all.. black mile could give it a run for its money in 4 to 5 years but that's a long way off

 

Is the lyric you can crash here or cry here in the moth? The lyric book says cry but everywhere else I see crash

Yes indeed you called it dude! The Silence sealed it for me, what a closer. This album flows perfectly, the sequencing and production on it are breathtaking. In many ways, it reminds me of the new Thrice record.such a breeze to get through and as soon as it ends all I want to do is play it again. Always the sign of a great record. Can't wait to listen and follow along with the lyric book.

Well so far I'd have to say this is for sure and if anything can top it I'd have to say it would be Ciz. Wonder if Animal Flag will release their album in the fall or only next year. I'm highly anticipating that one and could see them contending for the AOTY title as well.

As someone of faith, like I'm in ministry faith, this is why TDAG has always resonated with me, and something that I think has me especially hooked into A Black Mile.
