I can't remember that well to be honest. I can't remember if I read it here, on the Facebook collective or on Reddit. Someone basically says you can rearrange the album and have ANH as the last song on the album. And that it perfectly closes out the album starting from being depressed, anxious and lonely and then cycling to ANH where Soupy is complacent and everything isn't really as bad.
I'm paraphrasing a lot so it probably sounds awful so don't shoot me lol.

Yeah the video definitely gave me the advantage there

 

I know, it was such a hard choice but This Party Sucks just hits me in such a perfect way. This video is one of their best for sure though.

I had no idea so many enjoyed New Years that much. My least favorite on The Upsides. That bridge is cool as shit though. "Man, we don't go down that easy"

LC:ANH would make perfect sense as track 13 of The Upsides just because it feels like such an appropriate conclusion to the issues TU and specifically Logan Circle brings up. Bar Bands is wonderful don't get me wrong but I love the idea of rearranging the mission statement song of the original album in a way that brings closure to Dan and the arc The Upsides follows.

"Melrose Diner" to me is them getting a little too close to their inner fuckboys, even if it's not really a derogatory song. i like TPS better

i think any other pop punk band at that time wouldve royally fucked up writing a song like that, shit TSSF have made a career out of it, but with TWY it doesnt feel like that to me. i guess its because Dans done such a thoroughly good job of critiquing himself and illustrating how much difficulty hes having at the time of TU that i view Melrose Diner as just adding on to his growing list of issues and him being a bit petty and taking shots at his ex and her new bf. sure its petty and could come across as "well im better than him therefore you should stay with me" but even in the song Dan says its his friends that are saying these things and theyre just trying to make him feel better. id like to think I Was Scared And I'm Sorry and Hey Thanks were his way of apologizing.
