I have a lot of thoughts about this. But it basically boils down to a hierarchy of stages of getting to know someone and dating:

1. If done at the beginning it can come off as clingy/needy
2. At the beginning of seeing someone the person can be busy or in the middle of something personal that they might not tell you about that takes up a lot of their time outside of your dates
3. If after going on a few dates and the other person is no longer interested and is preparing to ghost, you don't prolong that process by adding another message for them to ignore
4. If after going on a few dates and considering dating or being in a relationship with that person, it's a way to gauge your compatibility for communicating with one another.
5. It's not my responsibility to keep the conversation going or to start conversation back up again every. single. time. It's a back and forth and if there's no back, I'm not going to put forth the effort.

I had a very long conversation with my boss and boss' boss the other day about my views on dating and relationships and they told me I'm not normal so take that as you will haha

This sounds well thought out, I think point five is probably the strongest one for me

 

I hate when people don't send one big message, just send like six two sentence ones. Just put it all together in one, and if we both don't have iPhones, then I'm okay with the message getting split into multiple texts. But to hear my phone go off four or five times and read like 40 words total is incredibly annoying.

ya see this is fine. I do this quite often since I normally will always have an afterthought to my original text. Probably why I double post on here so much too. (sorry guys)

 

I tend to send a sentence per message when I'm in a chatty mood and not talking about anything serious. If anyone reads too much into multiple messages, I'm basically fucked.
