I'll maintain that PS was so poorly received because people went into it after hearing TKO and Lose Control.

I Can Feel You and Days Will Run Away are as good as anything they've ever released. I would almost go as far as calling I Can Feel You the best song they've ever written.

The last 4 songs (Broken Arrow, Gravity, The Samurai Code, Days Will Run Away) is a great stretch.

Listening to Panic Stations now and yea I Can Feel You is just something else. I don't care if you hate every other song on PS, but if you look me in the eye and tell me you don't think that song holds up with the best of their discography, I can't take you seriously as a fan of this band. The bridge knocks me on my ass every time. Justin sounds so vulnerable and the band compliments it so well.

I Can Feel You is a good song but aside from the bridge I don't think it's anything special, there's multiple songs on every other one of their albums that I think are a lot better than it. It doesn't come close to the best MCS songs imo. Days Will Run Away is easily the best song on PS for me and even that isn't on par with the best from their first three albums.

Agreed. Album is great. It's actually kinda hard for me to listen to because it makes me sad about them breaking up.

Haha, it's cool, most people seem to feel the same way as you. I actually kind of dislike the chorus though which holds it back a lot for me. Like I said, the bridge is a 10 though, I'll agree there.

It sucks because it would've been great to hear where else they could have gone. At least, for me, it's a perfect final album, and a perfect final song. It feels like an encapsulation of all the themes the band explored over the years and such a nice ending note with a kind of vibe like "Yea life is hard and sometimes it's difficult, but it's possible to get through with a little optimism" which is really what the band has always been.

Yea the bridge is 100% what makes it so special for me, but I think it's a great song throughout. As long as you acknowledge that though, then I'll allow it. I can still take you seriously as a fan of the band lol

I agree that PS feels like it shares more DNA with CTTM and MDL and honestly I think PS wouldve been better recieved as the follow up to MDL. Go and EIIKM are the more "out there" MCS records and i guess theres an argument to be made that PS has weaker songwriting but to me it just sounds like the band is having fun especially after how weighty and heavy MDL and Go could be.

I get that you’re being hyperbolic but people like music for different reasons so for you to “not take someone seriously as a fan of the band” because they don’t consider a song to be among the best they have ever written is kind of ridiculous lol.

Edit: I want to be clear that I love this band and I think Panic Stations is good

Yeah I think everyone knows it was ridiculous and just hyperbole, that's what this site is built on.

I do get what you're saying, but I think there's also something to the idea that one particular song can be such a good showcase of everything a band does best that it's difficult to imagine a fan not holding it in high esteem. Sorta like how I get side eyes for saying Dizzy is one of my least favorite JEW songs, haha.

Watch what you say or I won't take you seriously as a fan of this band.

Edit: But yes, I'm obviously being dramatic. Like @FTank said, it's just genuinely difficult for me to imagine someone being a fan of this band dedicated enough to have even listened to Panic Stations in the first place, and then not think I Can Feel You is a great song. Of course that is informed by my own feelings towards this band and what I love about them.

I Can Feel You, Broken Arrow and Days Will Run Away are the only songs I care about from PS. Would have been happy with them releasing that as a final EP and leaving Go as their final album, cause man, Floating Down The River is a perfect career ender lyric wise I think.

As much as I think PS is a lame final album, "Days Will Run Away" is a perfect final song.

Yeah, I like "Floating Down the River," but "Days Will Run Away" is an all-timer in the "last songs bands ever put on their records" hall of fame.

Seeing them play Days Will Run Away at their final show was honestly one of the best parts of the night. Easily one of the best songs they've written

Kinda sad I never gave Panic Stations a real crack. I love everything these guys have done pre PS, and they were essential to me from ages 15-23. (I'm 26 now.)

Saw them play their final show in Melbourne in September last year, and it was amazing.
