It's a pretty common phenomena. College is a transitional period for people and it can lend itself to developing feelings for people who are older and seem stable in the arena of adulthood. Given the power dynamics, it'd be hard for me to see it as anything other than destructive.

 

Same here. It makes me wonder if guys can sense that right of the bat, so they don't even try to date me.

 

Things got really weird yesterday. My girlfriend's stepfather (who has been her stepfather for years) told her that he was in love with her. He has some substance abuse problems so we're assuming he was high out of his mind when he wrote it to her but it obviously doesn't make it okay and we're currently just figuring out how to navigate this situation, inform her mother, etc. It's been a rough past 24 hours.
