I find Roode incredibly boring outside of his mic work

I thought both were great tbh. The first was slow paced, sure, but I don't think that's always a bad thing. I guess to each their own though

How many nights of the G1 have there been so far? Only watched the first 3, hoping to get caught up tonight.

    Five nights.

Watch every Yuji Nagata match. For a man in his fifties, the dude is incredible.

I am never not amazed by his matches. Constantly looks better than a lot of guys half his age.

I mostly skip his stuff because he tends to do a lot of Young Boys matches. When I do watch them, they don't tend to be very special. This set of matches has been incredible though.

For some reason, I can't really get into Makabe or Goto matches. Something about their styles doesn't work for me. Its weird, because they aren't all that different from Ishii's style. Ishii is on another level.

Man this thread REALLY jumped the shark. Holy shit. If you want your favorite guys to go all out all of the time go talk to Daniel Bryan about how that went. The WWE schedule is 10x more insane than what New Japan does which is why the New Japan shows are higher quality. Their bodies can afford it. Both Ambrose and Orton do what they do because they don't get hurt. Both dudes could literally deliver a five star match and the next night have a standard tv match and y'all would call them boring. This is the same for Nakamura. We've literally seen what he's capable of what he can do on a lighter schedule.

Nak phoned it in a lot in NJPW too. The criticism isn't new.

And is it too much to expect the PPV matches to be good to fantastic? I don't care about the throwaway Raw/SD matches. But when the PPV comes around and we're getting piss poor matches, it's a problem.

Sami Zayn is the first wrestler this year to wrestle over 100 matches. The guy puts in work whenever he is on tv. The same can be said for AJ and KO. Hell, AJ wrestled two awesome matches in one night a few weeks ago.

You can wrestle a safe style(a la Miz) and still have a plethora of variety.

We aren't asking for the world here. Just that guys who put in the work be rewarded and what not. Falling into a lazy pattern makes these guys stale.

Yeah, you know who never phones it in? Dolph MF Ziggler. And all he got in return is a couple injuries and you turds deciding he's not good anymore.

Did Dolph ask for time off or something? Haven't seen him since he was the first guy tossed out in that battle royal

Sami literally separated his shoulder by trying to hype up the crowd. AJ has worked a mostly limited schedule for his entire career and is even quoted saying he doesn't have much more time for bumping. The Miz really hasn't changed his in ring style at all. He literally cut a promo and people called him one of the best in the business suddenly after years of being considered one of the most boring dudes.

Orton is going against Jinder fucking Mahal. What are you expecting out of these matches? They've been bad, but to say Orton is the boring one between him and a guy who has been designated to losing matches for years and has shown absolutely nothing makes no sense.

I'm heated but I'm at work and don't have time to go off on Ambrose because that'll be a damn essay so that'll wait!

Orton has been boring against better workers, this isn't new. Yeah, going against Jinder showcases it even more, that's not surprising.

Ambrose's whole gimmick and in ring style is lame as hell though, but I feel like most of it is due to booking so I won't completely tear him down. Orton just sucks.

AJ is expressing that Fale and Toma Tonga need to come to WWE. TT seems to be showing some frustation with The Elite, so who knows.

I can't remember a single time I looked forward to a Randy Orton match. I didn't watch him when he first was around with Trips and Flair and Batista.

Man, reductive much? What does what he could do when he was younger and on a lighter schedule have anything to do with him, right now, in WWE? Literally nothing. Different worlds. Also, you're acting like going "all out" is the reason guys like D Bry get injured. Guys get hurt the worst sometimes on the safest stuff, there's no great risk/reward science to it. Neville is the most impressive athlete in the company and he spent months on the shelf from a baseball slide. Nakamura has the benefit of a much lighter ring schedule on TV. I will be impressed when he impresses me, not grandfather him in because he used to impress others.
