From the liner notes my initial thoughts were right that there are actually no orchestral instruments it's all guitars, bass, drums, keys, and vocals.. so impressive that they could capture this epic cinematic sound. But it makes sense bc they took what they did with Swiss army man and applied it here

Also I don't think giving the sunshine the last spot was fair on my part. It's a cool little song that ties with the alien really well

The grocery is probably my favorite song

Edit: this will change a million times

Yea I know ha, it says courtesy of Atlantic records. He was on the Joyce manor album that came out last year too. I'm thinking it's just a harmony or something, bc there is really any parts that don't sound like Andy on the lead.

Nate on that Joyce Manor album was such a treat. He's barely there, but just the thought of him and Barry working on that melody for Angel in the Snow is fun.

Listening to this again, the maze is so amazing. The harmonies are so thick, it's like a choir of Andy's.

The Wolf did not sound like what I expected from the opening drums and guitar.

Maybe he's just in the quiet talking parts.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was on some of the harmonies on The Maze

In some ways the alien to the grocery feels like one long epic song

So I can't find any reference to anyone else having a physical copy of this album right now Haha i wonder how many copies were available this weekend to the world, my guess is very few and I just happened to be in a different state at the right time. So strange to me... maybe the alien set this whole thing up

Either that or most people just don't think to go to their record store early to see if they have it yet...I made reference earlier in this thread about my local record store selling albums 4-5 days in advance, but they never put them out (always behind the counter) and it was kind of 'if you don't ask, you don't know' situation. I felt like I was one of the only people in town who realized they did/do it (I don't know if they still do it since the official releases moved up to Fridays).
