Agreed. I highly doubt they'll ever surpass ADTR too.

I don't like I Prevail, but they're already the biggest scene band since ADTR. Also it took ADTR 3 albums to really blow up. I Prevail stormed out the gates. It'll be interesting to see if the hype is still there in 3-4 years.

They could just be the next WCAR, they had like a solid couple years of hype and now I never hear anyone talk about them

I don't think they will ever be as big as ADTR. But they know how to market their sound. They have been social media warriors since the beginning. They all seem to be genuinely nice people. I hope they can become large but it's gonna take another big album to keep it up.

The person who mentioned WCAR made me sad. Their selftitled bombed so hard and it has been a tough 2 years for them. Their live show also never really improved a large amount but I would like to see them have a resurgence. I could theoretically see IP getting hit by the hupe train if they have a bad 2nd LP.

This. I could see them big for a few years but they will eventually plateau and somewhat fade away. While not a actually a fan of lot of the bands, I've been following these types of bands for over 10 years now and unless you're ADTR or Paramore, the outcome is always the same.

Majority of these bands are marketed towards teens and for the most part, a lot of their fans get "over" their music and will only listen to their first couple of albums for "nostalgic reasons" even if said albums are only a few years old.

A couple of years ago everyone was saying Issues was gonna be the next ADTR. While I was never a fan of them, for the first time in awhile I actually thought the band was gonna be too big for Warped in a few years due to their unique sound. Their hype sorta went away and everyone I remember that used to talk about them all the time got "over them" and only occasionally listen to their ep and Self-titled album for "nostalgic purposes." I think their last headliner here was maaybe 3/4 full out of a 1000 capacity venue which isn't terrible at all, but it didn't instantly sell out like one would have thought.

Same can be said about WCAR how everyone thought they were gonna be huge especially with their new hard rock radio sound but everyone knows how they played out.

In a span of about 4 years, Attack Attack! went from instantly selling out 250 cap rooms, to playing 750ish caps and then about 1000-2000 cap theaters, quickly back to 750ish and finally not even selling out a 250 cap venue on their final tour.

If you look at a lot of tour flyers in the past 10 years, you'll notice how bands get flopped around depending how relevant they are at the time. A good example would be Alesana headlining All Stars 2012 where as if that lineup happened right now, they'd be near the bottom of the lineup.

I have noticed that most bands in this type of music that get huge literally out of nowhere have a fanbase like a rollercoaster. When their rise happens so suddenly, the drop tends to happen pretty quickly too once the fall begins.

Yeah I prevail is getting an insane amount of hype right now but no shot they ever touch ADTR. I don't think you realize quite how big ADTR is if you believe that.

It's a Michigan thing for myself, they are from here and it's all everyone talks about. WCAR is still big here too... same reason.

As far as Issues, if their follow-up would've been more of the same as the first and EP, it would have continued to grow.

This is so true. I'm almost 27 and most of my high school friends can't believe I still care about I Prevail/ADTR type bands. They were all into it from like 2006-2009 then moved on. Whereas with me every time I think I'm bored with it, a new wave of bands comes along. Same thing happens with Pop Punk. The music doesn't get any worse so I have no real incentive to move on from the scene. Plus most of my old friends are into Pitchfork type stuff now and that just bores me to death. I need my angst and distorted guitars.

For example, I think I'm the only person I know who was highly anticipating the new Greeley Estates EP (which is excellent) but in 2009 it would have been a much different story.

A tour on The Cleansing would be so rad, but I feel like those songs won't sound good with Eddie.

    The Real Dirty Dan.

I've seen SS play No Pity For A Coward, Unanswered, and Bludegoned To Death with Eddie; it's obviously not Mitch, but Eddie can hold it down doing those songs.

Same here. I'll be 26 in a couple of weeks and I've been going to Warped since 2004. In 2007 I went to warped with a group of about 20 people but nowadays it's usually just 2-3 of us who are still down for Warped. All my friends outgrew it and are more into indie, edm, or two type music and festivals now.

Majority of "scene type" metalcore and posthardcore bands fanbases are temporary. I domt know anyone that's 25 or over that listens to Memphis May Fire or blessthefall but I knew a lot when I was in my late teens / early twenties.

And sorry for double posting but a 10 year Cleansing tour would be great and would be a great draw if they took out the right bands. Maybe some veterans of the deathcore genre (Carnifex, Emmure, Oceano) as well as some new (Angel Maker, Lorna Shore, etc).
