I've had my 3DS since the day it came out so I don't know what the new one is like but the 3D feature on mine works well with quite a majority of the games I own. The rubber part on my joystick keeps falling off though and I don't know what to do about that

 

So how is the Switch for the casual gamer who no longer has hours to game anymore? These days a quick 30 minute session before bed / after work / on the weekends is all I really have.

I had a PS4 but ended up selling it because it really was just gathering dust. The way I'm justifying the Switch in my mind it seems like the perfect console to play on the couch when I have some time on the weekends, or just going portable if I want to play a little before going to bed.

 

I would say it's perfect for everything you listed

 

I used to own an Xbox One until it just stopped turning on all of a sudden. Got a Switch and it really does feel like the perfect console to me. I miss games like Halo and Call of Duty, but that was really all I played and it didn't make sense to own a console for only one game. Plus my brother and friends don't have one anymore so I'm normally just playing by myself. Also knowing that the Switch hadn't even been out but like 6 months (right?) and seeing the slough of games that are on the way is exciting. I've only had mine for a couple weeks and still have yet to play it handheld. But I'm looking forward to having that capability when I will need it.

Switch sounds great for what you want. I'm in the same boat. Got an xbone for xmas and I think I've played it once. This is how I use my switch.

 

Yeah, I think I've been talked into into the 2ds xl. I'm hyped to dive in because, even though I'm a Zelda fan, I've never tried Majora's Mask. Thanks for the input!

 

Wait so does Splatoon not go up at midnight? I just saw Nintendo tweet that there's only 24 hours until it's released

 

Yeah I was talking with one of my friends who has always been a serious gamer - and even he is at the point where he's like I don't have time to sit in front of my Xbox for 4 hours anymore, I'm getting a Switch soon.

I'm hoping Fifa and NBA 2K do great sales wise so maybe there is hope that Madden and NHL make their way over. I think that is the only thing I would miss out on from PS4 and Xbox. One of the hockey podcasts I listen to the hosts said if they could get NHL 18 for the Switch, so they can play on the train ride in - thats it - they are sold.

 

switch is perfect break time playing console.

also the switch to tv mode is so easy that I don't mind taking it everywhere.

although now the real debate is physical or digital

 

I think I'm gonna go mostly digital on switch. I don't have a case yet and don't want a bunch of extra stuff to carry around. Can't wait to use those motion controls. They work great in BoTW and worked great in the test fire. I even find myself trying to use motion aiming when playing on the Xbox haha.

 

I'll go physical because I'll probably save 15 to 20€ that way, as usual

 

I saw that deal for Best Buy GCU and Amazon Prime to get it for like 20% cheaper and I'm sad I don't have ether of those services.

I'll probably end up getting it from Target just because of the 5% savings on red card.

 

It's in 4 hours for US region. Is it NoA who tweeted? It was out in Japan yesterday.

 

yeah I just got an email today with a countdown to when it unlocks in the us and it said 4 hours.

 

I'm still having the debate between going digital tonight or just waiting for physical tomorrow.

It's a serious debate.

 

Same the flippable cover is the selling point for me, and I'm trying to figure out if I can justify going physical just for that (also I get it earlier and a bit cheaper).

Yup that's the selling point for me and also the fact I buy everything Nintendo physical.

I can only really justify the savings of the taxes if I were to buy physical over digital.

 

I have credit on my amazon account, so hoping I can use that toward a digital code. Would make up for missing out on the savings from ordering physical with prime.
