If you get Anderson Valley over there, their "The Kimmie, The Yank, and the Holy Gose" is the perfect starting point, it looks like this:



New Belgium's La Folie is also really great, it sells in bomber sized bottles. Anything from Almanac is going to be great, but a bit pricey. If you ever see Bruery Terreux bottles, you can't go wrong. Cascade is at the top of the sours game, but also pricey.

Those are some ideas I can come up with at this point

Thanks! Can't say any of those sound familiar, but I know I can definitely find La Folie around here. I'll start with that.

 

Along with the standard I posted, and the Blood Orange you posted, they also have a watermelon one out that people seem to really like (I don't really care for watermelon however)

 

Yeah! I actually posted that one as well. The "Briney Melon Gose". I'm not usually a fan of Watermelon either, but that beer is damn good.

 

A quick search found that Anderson Valley holy gose can be found at a local liquor store. I'll definitely give it a shot!

 

Loving seeing all these suggestions. I'll look them up at home later to see if I can snag any of them in MA!

 

New Belgium actually have been pretty greata at experimenting, if you see any of these, they are worth trying: Sour beer from New Belgium Brewing

 

Enjoy!!!! Definitely a perfect go-to for the style. Note that it's specifically a gose (apparently it's pronounced "Go-SUH" but I just say "gose" like ghost), which is a type of sour that has a bit of a salty tinge to it. I'm sure there is a more specific description, but that's what I usually think of when it comes to the style

 

I need to create a spreadsheet with all the beers I like, and all the beers that I want to try. It's so easy to find all these recommendations online but when I get to the store I'm usually lost haha.

 

You should use Untapped to keep track....... you can just rate what you do or don't like, so if you are at the store and recognize something you can easily look it up and see if you liked it or not

 

They also have a wish list that you could use as your "shopping list"

It's so quick and simple too. Really easy to use. I have such a horrible memory when it comes to nuance, so the ability to just track what I like when it comes to beer comes in handy as I keep expanding my tastes

Since we are talking about Sours.... I'm going to the one-year anniversary of one of my favorite breweries this Saturday. It's called Phantom Carriage and it's a primarily sour brewery, which is pretty rare. Anyway, they released the tap list for the event and I am really, really, reallllllly excited
