I hadn't checked this thread for a couple of weeks and now I've got loads more artists/albums to check out. I love that this genre is fairly new to me, I feel like I'm constantly finding new (or old) stuff I love.

That Tyler Childers sounds pretty good so I'll have to keep an eye out for more of his stuff.

As far as old stuff I really enjoyed Townes Van Zandt's best of when I had it on earlier today, so I'm going to delve deeper in to his back catalogue.

That Jade Jackson album was a really nice surprise this year. I had never heard a thing about her till I saw her name pop up on my local record stores new release newsletter. I'm surprised that album hasn't gotten more attention. I also love that she is on Anti records.

Yeah, that album release passed me by completely. Glad she was on this list.

Anyone listen to Caroline Spence? Her new album "Spades and Roses" is awesome. Spotify has related artists as Jade Jackson, Natalie Hemby, Amanda Shires, etc

I think my buddy Blake Berglund and his lady Belle Plaine deserve a plug in this thread

I'm wouldnt consider myself a huge Corb Lund fan though I enjoy most of his stuff, but this song is one of my absolute favorites. It feels like an old Townes Van Zandt tune to me.

Only just recently getting into Charlie Worsham but I'm really enjoying his stuff, especially the new one. Recently got into the first two Easton Corbin albums too, shame he got roped into a more bro-country adjacent sound.

Same goes for Chris Young, who I actually enjoy save for his newest one. Even A.M. has some solid moments, specifically "Text Me Texas" which could almost be a George Strait track.

Really been digging both of those Worsham albums lately. The first one is such a great summer evening record.

Did you read this piece from Rolling Stone Country? Really enjoyed it.

How Charlie Worsham Made the Most Vulnerable Country Album of 2017

She's great. I was hoping she'd get more buzz last year when her record came out.

I think I like Colter Wall's record a little more, but they're both really good. Refreshing to see two young guys with unique voices and perspectives getting buzz.

Finally got around to checking out Bonnie Prince Billy's Merle Haggard cover album. Good stuff. If you are a fan of either I recommend checking it out.

Alright I'll bite. So far my favorites in 2017. Don't want to put them in order just yet. Might be fun to do a mid year "best of" list for country/americana in this thread.

Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit - The Nashville Sound
John Moreland - Big Bad Luv
    Colter Wall - Self Titled
Caroline Spence - Spades and Roses
    Natalie Hemby - Puxico
    Steve Moakler - Steel Town
    Jade Jackson - Gilded
