Yeah, I don't like the idea of Fenway for SummerSlam, but could be cool for a big NXT event.

I'm still sad that those rumors of SummerSlam being at Red Bull Arena never came to anything.

And where exactly in NYC proper are they gonna do Mania? WrestleMania + NY = MetLife. New Era in Buffalo is also open stadium. Only major stadium that I can think of in all of NY that has the capacity to host a WM is the Carrier Dome, and WrestleMania ain't coming to Syracuse any time soon.

 

I guess I really meant when they had it at Metlife which is actually Jersey but that's an outside stadium. They've had it outside in the Northeast at that time of the year and recently.

 

I think so. I read it this week, so it sounds like there is probably more weight to it now. I think they definitely keep it in an area that is easy to get to that is a large international hub. NYC and Philly are good for it if they plan on going to the North East. Travelling in the New England area is no fun at all. I'd probably rule out either Maryland arenas as well for the same reason.

If they had it in ny it's highly likely it would be somewhere inside because I can't think of anywhere outside that has a ridiculous capacity. Don't be mad because you thought MetLife was ny.

i don't see why not, its weird. unless WWE is still being stubborn after it was leaked to the local media that they were consider having it here last year. we have an international airport, they are working on the road infrastucture and also adding an absurd amount of hotels in and surrounding areas of downtown (thanks to the super bowl in february).

i kinda wonder if they are waiting to see how the city handles the super bowl though first before awarding it to the city.

 

That was the Mania with Miz and Barrett on the preshow, right? I think it drizzled at the very least during that match.

 

Don't forget the skywalks so you don't need to walk outside as much in the cold!

 

I really don't care where they do mania, I just want wherever it is to have good optics and for people who almost never get it to get it.
