I'm VERY curious but I'm not gonna bug you for it. I just remember the whole MGM shelving incident back in 2008 and then I finally found it online in 2010. I've seen the film but know there's a history to it. I'm not a fan of it.

When I was a child the trailer for Chucky would give me endless nightmares. I still haven't seen them, not for any reason in particular, but they don't really interest me. Are they worth a watch?

I highly recommend the first two films, after that they're just a blend of comedy with horror elements up until Curse of Chucky

I still contend 3 is enjoyable despite the time jump and new actor.

The Howling was ok. I might need to watch it in a different setting. I was kinda distracted. Def my least fav Joe Dante film.

My watch history of the Child's Play movies are spotty. I've seen the first one which I really liked. Then the next in the series I've seen is Bride of Chucky, which I really liked. And the most recent was Curse of Chucky, which I also liked. I should probably fill in the gaps before the new one comes out.

I don't think I've ever really cared for the Child's Play movies, it's really hard for me to suspend my disbelief that people can't fight against a doll.

Same. I thought they were dumb as shit when I was a kid and couldn't grasp being afraid of Chuckie / that scenario and it's only gotten worse as I've gotten older.

I can kind of understand if someone is afraid of dolls how it would be a bit spooky as an idea, but I can't follow that dread continuing once the movie reaches like the 30 minute mark.

@marsupial jones glad you enjoyed Hell House LLC. It's definitely a diamond in the rough. It was actually filmed at a haunted house about 30 minutes away from where I live so I think I'm gonna head up one of these weekends to check it out.

Really disappointed with 12 Feet Deep. There was so much promise there, but the execution was just awful.

Ran into some thread in /r/horror where some guy proclaimed that The Conjuring is one of the best things that happened to horror since the 90's. Nah, bruh

How odd, I just watched those back to back on HBO last night. First one I love but love =/= quality in or out of historical context, haha. Second one was just meh. And yet, I watched Annabelle, will watch Annabelle 2, and the two spinoff flicks from The Conjuring 2.

I didn't find The Conjuring to be groundbreaking or anything, but I certainly found it to be effective. It especially fucked with my wife. She's not really religious, but she legitimately started to pray after repeatedly waking up at 3am.

Hell house also, surprisingly, has solid replay value. It's just full of impending dread.

I genuinely loved the detail in the setting with Conjuring 2. I loved all the music, clothes, and details in that aspect. Those movies always will nail "jump parts" but fall short with hints of goofiness and a pretty generic ghost movie plot.

I do admire the idea of creating a "haunting universe" based off these movies. They're good at what they are, but I'll always admire a movie such as Sinister 1 over the Conjuring.
