could definitely see that being the case, also I forget which videos I was watching but I started getting the feeling that Mark was playing the asshole big brother for a little while and it seemed to piss Tom off. I think they were MTV videos and at the time I was like, huh, does he not realize Tom is actually pissed off at him right now?

Wow we've been busy in here today, haven't we?

Yea but about those clips up there...awkward. I feel like it must've been so disheartening for the fans to be at one of those shows. I absolutely hate to draw parallels to divorce being that this isn't even remotely close to that...but to see that relationship going downhill in person after being a fan for so many years..ugh.

Do or do not, there is no try.

My first show was in Glasgow, December '04 - one of their very last shows if I recall. I loved it, I was only 12/13, so I didn't pick up on the animosity. Avoiding watching any videos from that period so my memories aren't tarnished, aha. Mark did a fun drum solo at the end of the show I went to. Good times.

    Yeah, those videos are baaaaad.

I'm positive there will be some songs we think are about Tom on this new record. All of Mark's songs will be like 'I hate this guy' and all of Matt's songs will be like 'I have no problems with him, keep me out of this plz'

Also, isn't sad how many more songs Mark has written about Tom than Tom about Mark? Like, there's not even a hint of it in any recent AVA material. And if I'm remembering correctly there was only like one or two lines on Whisper that seemed like it could be about the breakup. While almost the entire +44 record seemed like it was about Tom and the breakup.

How about instead of a ranking of favorite blink albums, we list out the blink shows we have attended? A way to pass the time while waiting for new music! Haha.

  6. So, I don't think they would have made a decision to play the songs fast in the first place. That probably comes from not practicing. I think that anyone who has played in a band can relate; if one person is off with timing, everyone else just tries to keep up. You end up playing something way too fast as a result. It happens. I just don't think the guys (or maybe it was just Tom) took the time to make sure that they felt comfortable with the timing of the songs.

Well, Mark's the one who has more to be bitter about since he's wanted to do nothing but blink all these years. It's been painfully obvious that Tom hasn't been invested in blink, so it stands to reason he isn't going to be as pissed as Mark.

    No worries!

Here's my list. From what I can remember, at least.

    5/29/2000- Worcester Centrum, Worcester MA
7/28/2001- Suffolk Downs, Revere MA (5 minutes from my house haha)
11/6/2003- Avalon, Boston MA (Dolla bill tour!)
    6/8/2004- Tweeter Center, Mansfield MA
    8/6/2009- Comcast Center, Mansfield MA
8/30/2009- Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia MD (Freefest)
    8/9/2011- Comcast Center, Mansfield MA
9/8/2013- Mohegan Sun Theater Uncasville CT

EDIT: Had the location of Free Fest wrong! That one was fun, I won transportation and hotel through a radio station, and had access to a VIP sitting area.

I realize the dynamic it takes to keep in time with each other (and they obviously didn't play with a click track back then). But they were in the middle of a tour. Not practicing shouldn't have really been an issue because they were playing almost every night back then. They just didn't give a shit, was my point.

Have you ever seen the setlist for that Wiltern show? They did a 10 song encore of stuff they never play! Like "Apple Shampoo" and "Dick Lips".

I saw them on The Mark, Tom and Travis Show tour and the Pop Disaster tour. Had a few opportunities to see them here in Toronto following the reunion, but Tom's god awful guitar playing and singing live turned me off from buying tickets.

Best blink show I saw was Brixton Academy 2012, then Hammersmith 2004. Every other time has been pretty dreadful. I only like them in smaller rooms.

Anyone ever find a vid of them playing, "Emo," live? Such an underrated song.

Only had the chance to see them once..

9/2/01 with NFG at the Allentown Fair.

  25. Only time I've seen Blink was on the No Doubt co-headliner in 2003. My mom told me she had to help a friend move and that I had to help too, so we got in the car and starting heading in the direction of the venue. About halfway there my mom asked me to hand her her purse, she dug around for minute and then was like "here hold these for a sec" and it was the tickets. I pretty much shit my pants in surprise haha.

Might be seeing the memory through rose colored glasses, but I remember them performing really well that night. Lots of cool theatrics and lighting too. I remember being particularly impressed with how much Travis would improvise in the songs. The Fallen Interlude was a major highlight as well (I was a drummer at the time). Openers were Phantom Planet, and Motion City Soundtrack played some random side stage.

    Alright I'm done reminiscing now!
