Boston is gutting half their roster for a guy who would maybe be the sixth best player on the court if they miraculously made it to the finals

 

I feel for Jazz fans, Gobert deserves better

 

A guy I would have loved on the Pacers, great.

 

Or Utah for that matter. They were a 9th place team in the west with him last season. He's only one piece of many to create a competitive roster.

 

Thats a lot of shuffling Boston has to do to make room for Hayward. Gonna have no bench at all unless everyone after this signs for pennies.

 

Holy shit, just read this comment on some article:

"I believe with Hayward this year we will win more games, be the 1 seed again and probably win another game or two against the Cavs. Yes, that still means we lose to them this year in the playoffs, but in 2-3 years we'll be going to the Finals!"

This seems like a really good deal for OKC

 

The Hayward signing would be significant if they had been able to pull off a Butler or Paul trade. Hayward is really good, but now they probably still lose in five to the Cavs.

 

I don't know, GH seems the perfect signing as he improves them this year while also not at all jeopardizing the long term plan. They weren't going to beat Golden State even if they emptied the tank for Butler or George. I think most here are content to marginally improve in the short term, hope on Jaylen and Tatum, and see what happens with the two lottery picks next year. That's a lot better than taking one crack at it this year (and still losing), losing PG to the Lakers in a year, and being down at least one if not multiple of those lottery tickets.

 

This is a fair point. But, positions are kinda meaningless to Brad Stevens/The NBA at large.

 

Unless you are fully behind paying IT excess of 30 million next year, I think grooming fultz would have been a better decision.

 

Also I feel for the jazz fans, another small market team getting spurned by a player they groomed and built around.
